MagicBand Query

Hi guys,

I need some advice on something related to WDW's MagicBands.

So, Im off to WDW next June and I wanted to use a MagicBand for entrance into the parks rather than a paper style ticket and its mainly for convenience more than anything else but as Im not staying at a Disney property, I won't get a MagicBand unless I purchase one myself of course.

This is where my query comes into play. If I bought a brand new MagicBand from a US seller on eBay for example and then later on, bought my tickets park tickets from Disney, can I then link my ticket to the MagicBand so I can use that instead of the normal paper style ticket?

Sorry for the noob question, but I've not been back to WDW since they introduced the MagicBands, so I wasn't sure.

You will need to buy a magic band at the park. Then go customer service at what ever park you go to first and have the customer service CM link your ticket to your magic band. I would also down load the my Disney experience App on you phone. Now I am not sure how that will work with your phone. Now I am pretty sure you will be able to link your ticket. I have linked a U.S. Military salute package ticket to a magic band in the past. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

You xould buy a magic band off ebay, but you get no guarantee that this magic band wil not already be linked to an account = you my not be able to use it at the parks. So in word, don't to this

Buy your tickets, link them to your your MDX account (tickets are not linked to magic bands. Oth tickets and magic bands are linked to your mdx account. Tickets are not magic band dependant, you may have several magic bands for the same tickets)
Then as soon as you're in florida, buy a magic band. They sell them everywhere, even at the disney shop at the airport (mind a 10% additional tax for every purchase made at the airporr) and at stores before the parks entrances
At the store you'll hve them linkd to your mdx account, and as soon as it's done they'l access your tickets and fp+
