Sailed on the Disney Magic December 7 to 14/14
Catagory 5A, 2 staterooms, 3 people

The weather was great except for one cool sea day. There were some winds that caused a bit of motion but nothing major.

Key West: Great for walking but needs better street signs. We walked in the same general area for a period of time till we figured out where we were. We did not do an excursion as we chose to explore on our own.

Grand Cayman - High winds so the tendering was interesting. Lots of movement and the staff were great with asssiting people on and off the tender boat. We did the Duck Tour, which probably should have not run, as we all got wet due to the wind and waves. The water was murkey so the video on the screen was not clear. The driver did try his best to get us to an area where we could see a few things. Feeding the fish was interesting and the video we took turned out well. I think the excursion would have been better with calmer water but we did enjoy it.

Cozumel- Good weather and calm water. Great photos from our verandah. Debarking went quick and the walk to the port area was not too long. Shopping in the complex attached to the port was good. We found several things reasonably priced. On the main street, the venders were agressive, trying to pull us into the stores even after a polite but firm "no thank you" Pricing was not as good as I had read on the net but there was a good selection of items. Overall, I would not go out shopping again, due to the agressive nature of the shop attendants during this cruise. Other people on this advised they loved their excursions, including the beach and ruins.

Castaway Cay - Good weather but windy, so we did not spend long at the adult beach. The family beach was more sheltered and provided a great location to enjoy the sun.
The crab races were hillarious and we took many pictures. I think there was about an even amount of adults to children participating in the event.
The decorations for Christmas were cute, especially the snow people dressed for the beach.
Characters were out at various points and the line ups were not bad. A couple of minutes was all that we waited. A statue of Olaf was near the post office and Donald and Stitch were also close by. Other characters showed up at various locations throughout the day.
Staff:
Our service team in the dinning rooms rocked! Ricky and Stiliyan were amusing and entertaining each evening. They did magic tricks with the children at the next table and created art with the cutlery. We celebrated a birthday during the cruise and the rendition of Happy Birthday was great. Many, many extra desserts were brought to the table and the staffs recommendations were always spot on. Food was good, always hot and not salty. The pace of the meal worked for our party and we never had an empty glass.
Palo was great, we had a 6PM dinner reservation on Pirate Night. The staff recommendations were spot on and everyone in attendance adheared to the dress code compared to our previous cruise. The portion sizing was good, we were able to eat our meal and not leave feeling like we over ate. The bar staff rocked and made great mixed drinks.
Mixology was okay, but it was not as interactive as I thought it would be. We sat at tables and made our own drinks. The glasses were set at the table premeasured, so we only had to add something or muddle fruit. No cocktail shakers to shake. :sad2:
The decore around the ship was beautiful starting with the ginger bread house and tree in the atrium. The green garland, lights and florals that decorated the atruim and elevators looked great. There were many trees around the ship along with garland hung along stairs and wreaths hung on walls. It was fun walking around to see the different designs and themes. Many of the photos will be making it into our trip calendar.
Movies playing during the cruise: The Hundred Foot Journey, Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Big Hero 6, Maleficent, Fire & Rescue and Captain America the Winter Soldier.
Formal Night was night 3 and Semi-Formal Night was nigth 6. Pirate Night was night 5 (Cozumel) Fireworks were okay but short in duration and the decks were packed with people. One of the few times I really noticed how many people were on the ship.
Two character ticketed events, one for the Princesses and one for Anna and Elsa (Frozen).
We used the free internet package that was noted in the Personal Navigator as we only had to check e-mails a couple of times during the cruise. The point of the trip was to unwind and spend time away from our electronic devices, so the free package worked for limited use. The internet worked well in our stateroom, (deck 7 port side) as well as in Cove Cafe. I did not try it out by the pool. Be careful that you log out of things, as a member of our party had issues logging out one day and it used up a lot of her data. The staff were great in reinstating the time and assisting with setting up an app to make it easier for the family member to log in and out.
We will be going on another cruise in 2016 but this time on the Fantasy. We booked on board during this cruise to access discounts. The process was quick but there was an error with the booking when I checked my e-mail. Thankfully we checked on the ship so we were able to go back and have the error corrected. Get a print out of any reservations you make on the ship for future cruises. Note: back to back cruises count as 1 cruise when booking but you get the discount and onboard credit for both cruises.

We are doing the same cruise in March so I was happy to see your trip report! We are still unsure of the excursions. We have booked the City Tour and Beach in Grand Cayman but nothing yet for the others. We have been in Key West before so we will just explore on our own. Not sure about Cozumel. Thanks for your info!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. We're going on the Wonder next week. It'll be our first with DCL and looking forward to it.
