DH, 2 DDs and IL's just returned from a Thanksgiving stay in a 2 BR at SSR. The resort was lovely, and we really enjoys the stay. My in-laws were blown away.
We had a very interesting thing happen to us on the night we checked in. We had arrived at the resort at about 1:00 p.m. to check in, and I was expecting to head right to the pool while we waited for the room to be ready. Amazingly enough, the room (actually, rooms 2245 and 2247) was ready for us. I need to buy a couple of park tickets for the in-laws, so that took a bit of extra time, but then we were off to settle in. After an afternoon at the pool (lovely, but I agree with other posters that it may be too small once the resort is completed) and dinner in the room, there was a knock on the door. I opened the door, and there was a CM with a gift basket full of goodies! The card on the basket said simply "Have a magical stay!" I'm really not sure why we received this, but my girls were thrilled with the enclosed Mickey ears (my older DH never took them off the entire trip) and autograph books. The basket also contained a lovely photo album and some character cookies.
The next bit of pixie dust came a few days later when DH left one of our Park Hoppers at a Fast Pass kiosk in the Animal Kingdom. He was devastated, as there were several unused days left on the pass. I sent him to Guest Relations, and they were able to determine which pass was lost, and how many days were left by looking at the serial number on the pass that he still had. The replaced the pass immediately! My piece of advice for anyone buying Park Hoppers is to write down the serial number of the pass on a separate piece of paper that you keep in a different location from the passes, in case anything like this ever happens to you.
These things are why we love Disney and why we keep going back!!!
