Here's my observations on our Mystery Cruise! and a link to our photos...

We (myself, DH, DS12, & DS6) flew in from Seattle to MCO on 3/28/03 and stayed at the Renaissance Airport Hotel (through Priceline for $38!). We didn't get to the hotel until around midnight so by the time we got room service for dinner and actually made it to bed it was around 2 a.m. We were really tired the next morning! We used Yourride to get to the Port - Thom was our driver and he was great - made a stop at 7-11 to pick us a couple of soda's for the road!

We arrived at the Disney terminal arround 10:30 and were one of the first to get checked in. I had planned to see if there were any upgrades available - we were in a Cat 8 and had stateroom 6556 which is really close to the midship elevators. I decided to not even ask - since I really didn't want to give up the prime location. So I saved the $$ I would have spent on the upgrade to spend on drinks and Bingo!

We were about the 5th group waiting in line to board and met Kpgclark while in line! After boarding I went straight to Rockin Bar D to get our Palo brunch scheduled. We then ran up to our stateroom and met Praveen our room steward who graciously let us change clothes and leave our carryon bags in the room. The Oceaneers Lab was next - got the boys signed up and go our pager for the younger DS. We went up to Topsiders and had lunch - then the boys went to try ou the Mickey pool. DH & I sun bathed and drank the drink of the day - Bahama Mama's!

We went back to our room and got ready for the safety drill. I did explain in advance to my 6 year old that it was like doing a fire drill at school - the ship wasn't going to sink but you need to know what to do just in case!.

After the safety drill we went up on deck to the sail away party and the Dis'ers had planned to meet at Scoops. Several did show up and we exchanged post cards from our homes with names & info. We watched the party from deck 10 and picked out a prime spot to watch the rocket launch that was scheduled for 5:15. Unfortunately the launch never happened!

We raced down dinner a little before 6 - we had the APL rotation. Unfortunately standing the hallway for Animator's my younger DS started to feel queasy. Crossing the gulf stream and I think the location of Animators made the ride a little rough! (for some reason Animators always bothered me a little - lack of windows maybe?) He ate a little at dinner but wasn't feeling well and in fact fell asleep. I'm sure all of the traveling the previous couple of days did him in.

Our servers were Shawn from Canada and Allen from Croatia. They were the Best! Our tablemates were a family with two girls from the Chicago area. We couldn't have had better! There were so many coincidences that it was scary! The DH worked in the energy industry as does my DH. The kids were roughly the same age, and the scariest - I have a really unusual first name (Valli) and the DW's best friend has the same name!

We were also seated very near SINK, Kpgclark, and Schmoogirrrl's tables!

Well - my younger DS had a meltdown (was cranky and not feeling well) just prior to desert so he and I missed the ending light show. I took him up to the room early. Later in the evening he felt good enough to go to the Club for a while. My other DS and DH & I went to the Welcome Aboard show. Which was pretty funny!

DS6 paged us about an hour after we had dropped him off at the club - I think he just wanted to be sure we would come back and get him! When I arrived he was playing with the group so I asked him if he wanted to stay longer and with the reassurance that I'd come as soon as he paged me, he did stay until later.

We also had Shawn and Allen as servers and we enjoyed them very much. Sean thought it was funny that we travel across the country to cruise and we get a server that is from Vancouver, only 4 hours from us.

We talked about that too! We're in Eastern Washington so closer to a 6 or 8 hour drive - but funny isn't it!

We pass through Ephrata every summer to go to Steamboat State Park. My son (Sean) is still trying to perfect a straw trick Shawn showed him. We told him he spells his name the wrong way. We got off the ship the day you got on so they had 2 families from Wa in a row.

My boys are trying to perfect the fork/toothpick trick. He did a couple of card tricks and a trick with three coffee cups that we still haven't figured out!
