Magical moments pin & game

I remember reading some older trip reports where folks talked about the Magical Moments pin and the handheld game that activate at the parks.

I just saw some on ebay & was almost about to bid. But then I started thinking that I haven't heard/read any mention of them in a while.

Are they still available? Do they still work the same? Should I get them for my 7yo?

I have one of these pins, but I'm not sure how it works. It has four buttons on the bottom, does anyone know the purpose of each?

In December, they still were still selling the Magical Moments pins. I'm not sure which type of game you're referring to, but I believe they are selling a electronic trivia game.

Katon, the buttons on the bottom are for playing four games. I know two of the games are a memory game for one player and a memory game for 2 players, but I can't remember the rest.

I have a few of the Magical Moments pins. Their basic operation (park mode) is to blink in a pretty and varying pattern when it receives a signal. Signals are sent from various places in the parks. I work mine in November and it worked - signals are still sent and received.

It also has a game mode which I've never used. That is what the 4 buttons are for. There are instructions with the pin that tell you how to play them.

I didn't see them sold anywhere in November and I was looking for them because I wanted to see if there were any new styles. I'm glad to hear they showed back up in December. What are the styles you saw?

I would recommend getting one. I think they're great fun and always get excited when I'm having a "moment."

What type of battery do they use? My son has played with his so much, that I'm afraid it will need a new one.

Thanks for the information about the Magical Moments pins. I purchase four of the pins off Ebay recently to take on our upcoming trip. I am glad they still work at the parks!

We haven't figured out how to play the games yet. I was thinking that my kids (DD-13 and DS-10) could play games with their pins while we wait in line for the rides. Do any of you know how the games work?

Each of the pins have four colored buttons on the bottom which serve as game selectors and to play the games. One of the games is basically another version of laser tag in which you use the "send" button on the back of the pin to take others' pins light up one color at a time. When they get three hits, they're out. Another game is a take on memory, in which you have to press the buttons on the bottom in the sequence that the pin displays them. They also come with an instruction manual that reads: The new Disney's Magical Moments Pins feature two ways to join in the Magic. By moving the switch on the back of the Pin to 'Park' mode, you can experience the many Magical Moments in the Walt Disney World® Resort theme parks. The Pin will magically display special light sequences during many shows, attractions, and parades. "Once you leave the theme parks, the fun continues when you move the switch into 'Game' mode. Now you can choose to play one of 4 new games by yourself or with your friends."

I bought DS(8) the Magical Moments Game back in 2002;

I saw them for sale yesterday at www.giftsofalifetime.com;

My son loves this game, it has many different games to play, like a gameboy but Disney; DS plays with his a lot.

They take the large watch or calculator batteries - 2 of them. I've found them at Wal-Mart.

Has anyone seen them sold in the parks in the last month or so? What designs were they?

If I am thinking of the same thing.. I bought some while I was WDW a few weeks ago.. I bought two different ones, but can only remember that one of them had the castle on them.. I found them in a box near the cash register at the World of Disney Store at DTD for $2.50 each..
