What are some magical moments you have made for your children at DW or that have happened in DW? I would love to hear them! :sunny:

My son's first trip, having him remember his first trip the next time we went back, watching him meet Mickey for the first time (he ran up to him, but was afraid of all the other characters), giving Chef Mickey a kiss on the nose, playing hand tag with Pluto at Chef Mickeys, his first up front monorail ride (hes a huge train buff), my daughter's upcoming 1st trip and having my son tell her all about it (she just turned 1 by the way).......my parents telling my kids about my first trip to DW when I was 3 - the story of how they got lost (I wasnt because I had my name on a card), and the one about dining in the Poly all dressed in a long white dress. I had to go to the bathroom, took off running and ran smack into a waitress carrying a tray full of red wine in glasses! Blackmail....

Our very first night we went to Magic Kingdom for dinner at the Castle, it poured rain while we were eating a we were discussing during dinner how it might be better to come back the next day to ride. As we emerge from the Castle the clouds part and low and behold--Fantasyland is a ghost town! We walked onto EVERY ride in Fantasyland!! (that's enough magic for me) As we exit our last "must do" ride in FL Wishes starts. DH puts DD on his shoulders so she can see and we all just hundled together and my daughter looks up at the fireworks and says, "Look Daddy...It's Pixie Dust"
DH looked at me and we both had tears in our eyes! Made the entire trip right there!

On my dd `s first disney trip (she was just turning 8 at the time) we were at the halloween party and she was dressed as Cinderella (very disapointed b/c we didnt get to eat with Cinderella, I tried every morning at 7am at our 90 day out and then called daily while we were there for a cancellation! Well here we were walking up around the castle to go watch the Celebration princess show, and we stumble right into the lit up coach with Cindy herself and the fairy godmother!!! So we have the sweetest video of her and priceless pictures with Cinderella while they were dressed in matching ballroom gowns!
The highlight of the whole trip!

Last year was DD4 and 5's first trip to WDW and I decided to make them suprise reservations at My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party (see below). DH and I bought matching Belle dresses with shoes to match at the World of Disney in DTD. On Thanksgiving day we let them sleep in after a long day at MK, when they woke up they were in awe when they saw their new dresses. I told them that someone had invited them to a royal tea party so they had to look their best. Needless to say, they were ecstatic when they entered the tea party. Thes best part of the tea was when Princess Aurora taught them to dance like princesses. DD5 told me, "I'm ready to dance with my prince now but don't tell daddy!" I wanted to laugh but she was VERY serious...

We went to eat at the castle for breakfast and when we came out, Fantasyland was deserted... we went on all the rides and then just goofed around on all the props around the park, with the entire family... Grandma, Grandpa, Me, Hubby, 2 kids and Sis and B.I.L.... what fun we had that morning and great photos ha! ha! party:

Ahh taking my DD to WDW this past March for her first birthday. Yeah I know she won't remeber it but her Dad and I will.

Sitting on the lap of Sorcerer Mickey. Her look of awe at the Small World Dolls and then singing as we leave the attraction. And nothing like having her actual birthday day dinner at LTT, ordering a beautiful Ariel cake delivered there for her and having Dale egg your one year old on to eat as much cake and frosting as she can with her hands. Thanks for the sugar high Dale. Heehee!

But the best part was just being there with her, my DH and I in the most wonderful place on earth!

I have a couple to add. Our younger ds' first trip was to DL when he was 5. He went to DL again before our first ever trip to WDW when he was 9. As we were walking down Main Street of the Magic Kingdom our first day there, he took my hand and said, "I feel like I'm 5 again!" I tried very hard not to laugh, but I could so identify with what he was saying! I said, "Yep, so do I". I'll never forget that.

On that same trip our dd was 2.5 and we thought she might be afraid of the characters. Our first night we went to Chef Mickeys, and to our surprise and delight, she ran right up to Donald Duck and gave him a hug! The look on her face when she saw Mickey was just priceless. And when first Chip, and then Dale came by, she pointed at both of them and exclaimed, "Look! Two Chips!"

Oh, I am loving the stories! I am getting goose-bumps and can't wait to see my DD's reaction when we go for her first time next month! Thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful stories! :cool1:

Great stories. My SO has never been able to take his twin DD's(9) on a vacation because he could never afford it. With my help, we will be taking the girls to WDW for 5 days and I can't wait for him to have that experience with them. They have never been to WDW.

Wow! these are all so great. Mine doesn't seem quite so exciting any more. :sad1:

For my DD's first trip I had gone to the local Disney store before the trip and bought her a Tink t-shirt and some Minnie PJ's to hide in her suitcase. When we arrived at the hotel and she opened her bag there was a Cindy bag with the surprises inside. She actually thought Cindy had left them there.
The next day we were on the Monorail going to the MK when she saw the castle she started jumping up and down. I had tears in my eyes. Really, I guess it was more of a moment for me.

My BEST Disney memory for my first son was on our first Disney Cruise when he was one. We brought him to Flounders Reef Daycare for an evening out, and SnowWhite went to visit the children and ended up rocking Noah to sleep. Can you imagine?! My little boy was rocked to sleep by SnowWhite!! I love that. The staff told me it was just perfect, they told me he curled right up to her and snuggled!

We took my DS to WDW for the 1st time for his 3rd b-day. All the naysayers before we left were saying what a waste of money it would be....he would never remember it, etc......

WELL......8 years later, he DOES still remember it! Mostly through pictures and video I'm sure, but that is beside the point!!! Crystal Palace pooh lunch went out of their way to make it extra special for him. At CP, waitress brought over a cupcake with a candle just for him and had all the characters come over while we sang to him. Then each character signed a Disney B-da card that the waitress brought over too! He felt extra special! Chef Mickey's was fun and memorable too.......He kept goofing around with Pluto by tugging on his long tongue and I'll never forget his face when Mickey Mouse came over to our table.....PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!! He still talks about how Cruella Devill kept undoing his "rips" sneakers (his term for velcro closure sneakers).....they had about a 5 min interaction going outside of the teacups where she would undo his sneakers and he would do them back, etc...... He finally had enough and came over to me to tattle on her......IT WAS SOOO FUNNY :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !

We went in Dec and my 3yo was and still is nuts about Mickey. Saw Mickey at Chef Mickey's the first morning we were there, but my ds was scared so didn't really say anything. The second day we spent at AK and EPCOT so no Mickey that day. The next day we went to EPCOT in the morning and then that afternoon to MK for MVMCP. My ds spent the whole day looking for Mik Mowse (as he called him). During the party we went to Toontown and rode barnstormer like 6 times w/out getting off, because the whole area was so empty. We then went to Minnie's house and I wish I had a scanner to show you just how excited my ds was to be in her house. Now, of course the whole time we are looking for ol' Mik. We come out of Minnie's and a family is leaving the Judge's tent and tells us that there are tons of characters and no one in line. So, we go in the tent and it is empty of any families. We go to the room and there is Daisy, Minnie and Mickey. My ds (well, all 3 of them) is so excited. While my 3yo was excited, my 5yo ds was tired of taking a picture every 5 min. and refuses to get in any of the pictures, so Minnie proceeds to chase him around the room. I would have given anything to have had the camcorder going on this one. She cornered him behind a plant and starts pointing her finger at him. Of course his brothers think this is the funniest thing ever. Minnie finally manages to get him in the picture. We finally get to Mickey and I am holding the 3yo so he is face to face with Mickey. He looks at Mickey and says, "I wooked for you all day long." Mickey then kisses his nose and my son squeals, "Mik kiss my no, Mik kiss my no." That would be his nose to you and me, he goes to speech in case anyone wondered. We leave the room and as we are walking in the hallway area that takes you back to the main area of the tent, Sleeping Beauty and her Prince walk by. They stop and she comments on seeing 3 such handsomes princes. My 5 yo runs thinking he will have to pose for another picture, my 2yo puts his face in my neck, but the 3 yo walks up and tells her, "Mik Mowse kiss my no." Of course she made a big deal out of it and he just grinned. By this time I am about to burst out in tears it was so cute.

Last summer I surprised my family by booking Atrium Club at the CR for our stay. They didn't find out until I told bell service at the resort :) I also surprised my DD with breakfast at CRT on her 13th birthday :cloud9: It was just the 2 of us- my DH and our sons played golf that morning. We had an early ADR, and the park was still fairly empty when we finished breakfast :)

In Oct 04, my (then) nearly 3-year-old DD wanted to ride the "fast train" (Thunder Mountain Railroad). She loved it! She laughed her way through the entire ride. Getting off was another story. She started screaming that she still wanted to ride. As we tried to exit the ride, a CM asked DW if DD got scared. Oh no, she wanted to ride again.

Well, the CM asked us to follow her. We went back into the loading/unloading area through the exit. She then put us on the next train leaving and asked DW how to spell DD's name. After the second ride, we told DD that she needed to thank the nice lady who let her ride again. When she did, the CM gave her a Fastpass good for any ride she wanted.

That was our first day in the parks on that trip, and my DD's first WDW experience. She'll never remember it as she grows up, but her reaction that day is one I'll never forget.
