I'm glad everyone's enjoyed C's encounter with Belle and Peter. You're right about needing to send a note to WDW.

lulu71, thanks for thinking that I ought to try for POTW at allears.net. I just about did, then I noticed this legal notice at the bottom of the page:
By submitting your photo, you grant a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media.
In the photographic world, this is known as a "rights grab". Theirs is extremely broad. For example, if Deb decides to publish a WDW guidebook (or use the image in any other for-profit manner), she is free to use any photo you send her without paying you any compensation... forever. She is also free to license any image to a third party (with or without collecting a royalty) for whatever reason... forever. She could have just selected a much narrower legal release that would have granted her the right to use your images as part of the POTW contest royalty-free and left it at that.

This isn't to single Deb or her site out. This is pretty standard when submitting photos to things like picture contests and such. Most people are more than happy to "sign" away such rights for the chance of winning a contest. But as a semi-professional photographer whose work has been used by news wire services and has appeared in publications such as USA Today and Sports Illustrated, I don't give up rights to my images, especially for commercial explotation, for free. However, I don't mind posting images here for all to enjoy for free (and even save them to use for their personal non-commercial use), while at the same time retaining my legal rights to control their use.

I'm not saying this to get down on Deb or her site (I like it a lot). It's just that people ought to know what that little legal boilerplate at the bottom of that page means. If giving away the legal rights to your images is OK to you, then by all means go ahead and submit your photos.

How sweet! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I love the last one with his hand shading his eyes as he looks up in the sky for Peter--too precious!

My wife and I think that's one of the best ones of the sequence too!

I just visited HersheyPark the other day in Hershey, PA. While the park looks really nice and has some great thrill rides, it still is missing something.

Your story sums up exactly what it is. You experienced something special and unique...something "magical" to put it in Disney terms. Belle didn't have to find Peter Pan, but for her to go out of her way to do so (or at least realize that Cinderella's show may have been going on at that very time) symbolizes the reason WDW is so unique and wonderful.
