Another early day and my butt was draggin’! Jonathon wasn’t feeling too bad, but he was itchy and headachy. Fortunately, Dennis had gone down to the front desk the night before to ask if there was anything special we needed to do to get into the park early for CRT, because they had a print out for us with our PS confirmation number on that we had to have to get in. We left early for our CRT (6:45 a.m.) and got to the park about 45 min. before they let us in. We sure weren’t the only ones there that early, surprisingly enough. They finally let us go to the castle right at 8:00 and it was incredible walking down Main Street, USA with only a few other people. I snapped some pictures the entire way. Oh, and there was a young couple with bride and groom Mickey ears and everybody around thought they were so cute! They were so adorable.

I think I was more in awe of the castle than Rhiannon was. I was in no hurry to actually get there because the anticipation was so delicious. What is it like? Which princesses will be there? Will Rhiannon be shy? Will she love it as much as I hope she will? When we signed in at the front, we were taken to our table right away by the cutest waiter – Rhiannon even whispered to me, “Mom, he’s soooo cute!” He seated us, then we were waited on by a nice waitress named Tina and she brought the food right out.

Breakfast wasn’t too bad -- scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes gratin, blueberry fritter, & cinnamon rolls. Rhiannon had French toast sticks, bacon, and scrambled eggs. It was really too much to eat.

And then came the princesses! You should have seen Rhiannon’s face light up when the princesses swept gracefully into the room. We spotted Snow White first, and then when I saw Mary Poppins, I grabbed Dennis’s arm and squealed to him “Oooh, look, it’s Mary Poppins!” When I was Rhiannon’s age in the 70s, Mary Poppins had some sort of revival, so she was really popular with us and I was all into that. Snow White made it to the table first and you could tell Rhiannon was so excited to get to talk to her. I liked how they did things – the princesses would first notice the autograph book and sign it while talking to the child, asking personal questions, and then they would pose for a picture. Rhiannon got all the princesses autographs and I took pictures of each one of them. I thought they were nicely attentive, while still being able to make it around to each table.

We got done with breakfast a little bit before rope drop, so we had time to wait around in the throne room of the castle, because the Fairy Godmother was waiting on the throne to talk to the kids. We waited in line maybe 10 minutes before Rhiannon’s turn and when she got up there, they had some kind of deep and meaningful conversation. The end result of this was that Fairy Godmother called me over to inform me that Ariel would be in Ariel’s Grotto by 9:30, but I MUST make it over there by 9:15 if we don’t want to wait in a long line. Apparently, Rhiannon had told her that I didn’t know where to go to see Ariel. I was just laughing hysterically, but felt bad because the Grotto wasn’t in our plans for this day, bad mom that I am!

We got done with Fairy Godmother with a few minutes to spare for rope drop and then we were off. Dennis went to Space Mountain for FP’s, and Rhiannon and I rode Buzz Lightyear. Dennis caught up with us and we all rode Buzz again. I did way better on the first ride than on the second because the ride got stuck in one spot for a few seconds and I was able to keep hitting the same target over and over. Dennis, the schmuck, whooped my butt the second time. After that, we rode the teacups, and then went to see Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Wow, just wow! That had to be my favorite of all the 3D movies. I loved how they incorporated the newer movies into it and I was actually choked up during “Be Our Guest” because of Jerry Orbach.

After that we rode Snow White’s Scary Adventure. Our FP return time was up for Space, so we went to Toontown for rope drop and got on the train to go over to Frontierland. Dennis got FP for Splash Mountain and then we all rode Big Thunder Mountain RR. Rhiannon loved that one! After that, we rode the train back to Toontown and went to SM for our FP return, only to find out that the ride was broken down. Disappointing!!! We took a little break in the Tomorrowland arcade, then back to Toontown to get the train back to Frontierland. That train sure is an energy saver. I was able to do so much more at MK than at the other parks because we could use the train to go back and forth for our FP’s.

We used our FP’s to get on Splash Mountain and we were absolutely amazed at how long the ride had grown already! We zipped past hundreds and hundreds of people to practically the front of the line, maybe waiting only five minutes. Wow. By that point, it was noon so we decided to finish up on Space and then leave. Space was still down, so we caught the train to the main entrance. While we were on it, we offered our FP’s to a couple of young women and they were pretty happy about it, because even though our time was for earlier, the CMs at SM had said the FP’s would be good all day since the ride was broken down.

On our way out of the park, we went to a little ice cream shop on Main Street USA for ice cream, then left. We went back to the room for a little nap.

Around 5, Dennis and I left for our adults’ night out. Rhiannon didn’t want to go to Simba’s Cubhouse for some reason and Jonathon said he didn’t mind if she stayed in the room with him, so she stayed behind with Jonathon and we ordered pizza for them. He’s a good bit better at this point, but the rash is still bothering him. I hate to say this about him, but he’s so much nicer to his sister when he’s sick! I don’t know why that is, but he’s always been nice when he gets sick.

Dennis and I went to the Grand Floridian for dinner at Narcoossees. Oh my god, the Grand Floridian is the most beautiful place! It’s incredible and I wish I had taken my camera, but I’m sure I can find pictures later online (actually, here's some from allearsnet: Grand Floridian). I can’t even describe the style, but it’s extremely elegant and also very quiet. That would definitely be my second choice after AKL. Narcoossees was kind of like a yacht galley style place. Dennis had mussels for appetizer & sesame seared tuna for entrée and I had crab & langostino cakes for appetizer and surf & turf for entrée. For dessert, we both got a fresh fruit sorbet. The food was delicious and we’ll definitely make sure to do Narcoossees again on our next trip back.

After dinner, we hopped on the Grand Floridian resort boat to ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon just for something to do to waste a little time. It was ready to storm and the boat pilot thought we were nuts for wanting to ride in that because it was a wet boat, but it ended up not raining anyway. The lagoon was so beautiful and we enjoyed the ride.

After that, we headed out to Kimono’s for sushi and karaoke. We got there entirely too early, but we sat on a sofa and talked and had a few drinks. I had a strawberry mangotini & a couple of blue Hawaiians. Dennis had the plum wine & it was nasty. He sang a few songs, then we left to go back to the room a little before 11:00. The kids were still up and watching TV together.

Tomorrow’s our sleeping in and lazy day.

Stay tuned for Part 5!
