Friday, Jan 14th, Day 2 Part 1
I need to do this in parts because the second half of the day is LONG and SCARY!
I woke up at 6:45 am (5:45am TX). I never get up this early unless I'm in WDW. I can sleep when I'm dead. I'm at WDW! I remember last looking at the clock at 2am. Only 4 1/2 hrs sleep. I'm going to be giddy all day.
I quietly get up and turn on the bathroom lights. I truly believe that everyone should be awake since I'm awake. DD's get up and get ready to start the day. WHOO! The boys (DH and DS) aren't following with the program. Didn't they know that I have a schedule to keep us on? I decided that the girls should get breakfast for us then bring some back for the boys.
I open the door to see rain. Not the "this will pass in an hour" rain but the "don't put a small child outside or she will be badly bruised" rain. No sweat, I packed our ponchos from 2001. Now before we left I did tell my DD's to pack their TDS princess raincoats. I should have checked their luggage. Guess what was missing? Yup, you guessed it. The raincoats. I use one poncho and they use the other.
We waded to the giftshop/food area by the way of hugging the buildings as we went. We get to the food/gift area with only our knees down soaked. Not to bad. The dd's get the adult pancakes and I get the child's plate. I'm not a big breakfast eater but we need to keep up our energy for the rest of the day. DD's finished in no time flat while I took my time. DD's asked to "just look" at the shop. Nice job on the marketing idea Disney! Parents all over the place are happy with you. LOL
Within 2 mins., DD's have found the most incredible, fantastic pins ever. I just have to see these most wonderful things ever created for mankind to see and enjoy. I get up rrreeeaaalllyyy slow. I clean up our table and DD's are about to have a kitten. "PLEASE HURRY MOM! You just won't believe it!" I do have to buy 3 more ponchos ($20 please, thank you and have a magical day). I see the most incredible pins ever and respond appropiately for DD's. They want them REAL bad. I tell them "If you want them, you can buy them with your money not mine." (They each received $70 for Christmas from relatives) The pins stayed on the rack.
We get the boys breakfast and start to head back out to sea toward our room. I see a grandmother with a little cute but very wet girl. The GM is trying to make sure the little girl (about 2) stays away from the big puddles. It just didn't work. Theyboth were just soaked to the bone. It was if they were auditioning for a wet t-shirt contest. (The guy following them won). As we swam to our room, the rain seemed to beat down harder. It was starting to hurt a bit. The boys are up and are ready to eat. I pack up our stuff for our transfer to the WL.
DH looks at me and says that maybe we should just go check into WL and stay there for awhile and not go to a park while its raining. I looked at him with disgust. How could he wimp out? It was only a little rain. I didn't hurt all that much when it hit you. Thankfully DD's nearly broke out in tears. Their wailing worked perfectly. DS joined in went he found out Daddy didn't want to go to Diney Word. I just smiled
.
We sailed
to the car and loaded it up. We drove to WL to check in. Now the fun was about to start. "Hi, can I help you?" "Yes, I need to check in 5 rooms. Let's start with the 2 DVC rooms and I need to explain the other 3 to you." The look on her face was priceless. "You have 5 rooms? How many for there are you?" "There are only the 5 of us now but by 3pm there will by 19 total. We need all 5 rooms."
She check in the 2 DVC rooms and gave me the keys. They weren't ready yet but I could call this number, etc. Now for the other 3. I made the reservations in my name and put down the deposit for them in late Aug/early Sept (DA's paid me later). I told her that it would be great if she could put the rooms in each DA's name because they would take care of the rest of the bill when they came in. I gave her the names of the people that would be in each room. She told me to wait one moment she will need to get some help with all of this. (In hind sight, I should have done this earlier but lesson learned). She told me that she will get this done for me by the time everyone arrives, not to worry. I listened to her (A mistake I will find out about when I return home).
By now it was about 10 am. I'm 2 hours behind my personal schedule. The rain has slowed and it doesn't hurt anymore. The kids are driven to distraction if we don't go to the Magic Kingdom. As we head towards the ramp, DD's sees the pin cart. They just have to stop. They traded with the lady (Sandra) and told them our life story. We finally peel them away with the bribe that we will be getting MM Premium Ice Cream Bars when we get to MK.
Down to the dock we go. DS looked/acted like a crab in a plastic vegetable bag. He wouldn't take the poncho off because his sisters still had theirs on. Peer Pressure I guess. The boat drivers got a kick out of watching him fight with himself and the poncho.
After we entered MK, I wanted to take a pic with the photo guys. Guess what? They weren't there. So I decided to take one myself. DS nearly had a puppy. THE CASTLE!!! NO PICTURE!! The castle. He starts running to it. The 4 of us run after him to make sure he doesn't fall or get lost. He was in heaven. It is the perfect memory for me. We head over to Buzz. I did the best because DS didn't like the dark parts and DH comforted him. DD's were excited but didn't do as well as they would like to. We then head to TTA. We called this "DS roller coaster". He was happy as can be for a 3yo. By now my group was hungry. We head over to the cafe in Tomorrowland (I forgot the name right now). DS wants PB&J. Tha is all he ever eats. They don't have it. The CM's don't know where I would be able to find some.
I look at my watch and notice that it is nearly 11:30am and the first of our arrivals should be getting there soon. So we head over to WL to eat at the Whispering Canyon. They have PB&J. WHOO!! :jumping4:
I go around to see if Co#1 and Friend are there yet while my family gets seated for lunch.
