Magical Fireworks & Fantasmic - Returning on May 28 (Friday)

So which fireworks show is better? We are arriving on the 23rd and didn't plan to go into the parks but wondered if we could see the fireworks for the GCV?? We will also be there on the 28th so will get to see the Magical fireworks.

Just wondering.

I can't seem to remember the Magical fireworks to save my life, but I'd definitely recommend the Dreams fireworks if you can see them before the change. However, you'd definitely want to see them from inside the park if it's for the first time, preferably near the hub as you'll get the benefit of the special things done near and on the castle, Tinkerbell's flight, and the story filtered through the loud speakers. In my honest opinion, the story and special things make the fireworks and without it, they're just like any other good fireworks show.

Dang, if you can catch the last show I would! I've seen Remember a lot and is always fantastic. However, I agree with barefootmomma in that you want to have the music/story/tink/etc.

Also why the span from 23-to the 28? Remember that if it is windy that could cause the fireworks to be canceled. You'll want to catch them earlier in your trip just to be sure.

We arrive on the 23rd and don't leave until the 30th but the 23rd was the last night they were showing the Dreams fireworks show so maybe we will want to enter the park that day! That's what I'm trying to figure out. We are driving down from Seattle with 8 kids and I have alot of figure out.

I just remember everyone talking about the Dreams fireworks show and was bummed it was only on the day we would arrive. I guess we will have to watch the weather that day to make our decisions.

I have not seen yet Magical yet, but RDCT is much more than a fireworks show with lasers and special effects, and is the best Disney show I have ever seen...

I think RDCT is much better than Magical (and am a bit disappointed, though not surprised, that Magical will be playing during our trip!). Some people prefer Magical, though. I think if you love Dumbo and/or love Disney movies (especially some older ones!) more than DisneyLAND, you might like Magical a little better. I love Disneyland so I prefer RDCT. There are some cute sequences in Magical though and it's worth seeing.

If fireworks in general are a priority for you then you may want to try to see both shows just because wind can cancel them. But the crowds for RDCT's last show might be pretty darned big due to locals and others trying to see the show before it goes away for the season.

RDCT was the best firework show ever. Magical was just a throw in after the fireworks budget got cut. Only cool thing was dumbo flying.

Thank you for those who posted about Dumbo! I remember the Magical show now. :)

Definitely definitely see Dreams, if you can!

We'll be there the first week in June, the 2nd and 3rd I believe.

1) Should there be fireworks on Wed the 2nd if the weather is fine? I'm guessing no fireworks on the 3rd since I think it's a grad night.

2) Tell me about the Dumbo thing. It sounds interesting, although I recall one poster say they didn't see until their 3rd try........ :confused3

1) Magical fireworks are on the official schedule for Tuesday, June 1. (At this time the official calender only goes to June 1.)

In a couple of days the calendar should be updated to include June 3:

2) Here's a photo of the flying Dumbo:

HTH :dumbo:

Dumbo basically takes Tinkerbell's place in the current fireworks show. He will fly from the top of the Matterhorn across to the front of the castle and around that area. Here is a clip of it on Youtube though, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wOIlrS-TIo.

In my opinion, Tinkerbell is so much cooler because it's a real person in a costume. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkKv7bC8i00&NR=1

I recall Tinkerbell and Dumbo BOTH being in Magical? Or have they changed that? (I'm not so sure that Dumbo isn't a person either... :flower3: )

Will Dreams be back after summer or is it leaving indefinitely??
It appears that Remember...Dreams Come True (RDCT) will be back. Last year it played on a weekend in November, between the Halloween fireworks and the Believe...In Holiday Magic fireworks, and then this year RDCT has been showing since January.

It appears that DL is showing 4 fireworks shows throughout the year: RDCT, Magical (in the summer), Halloween fireworks, and Believe (for the holidays).

I just looked it up on Youtube and you're right! Tinkerbell is in the Magical show as well (or at least was in last summer's run for sure), great to know. :thumbsup2 I didn't remember her being in it, and she is one of our favorite parts of the day. :) I'd definitely be curious to know about Dumbo too!
