I got my luggage tags yesterday, but I'm scared to let them handle my luggage. All we're going to have is 4 carryons. Can I just take them on the bus with me? I'm worried that I'm going to need something from my luggage and they won't have it to my room yet. Also, how often to they loose bags??

You could separate out the stuff you will need immediately (and should separate out valuables and medicine) and take just one suitcase with you.

There is a slightly greater chance of loss of baggage brought with you. Something could be misplaced when the bus stops at another resort.

If ALL you have is carryons then yes you take them with you on the bus.
ME tags are only for checked luggage that ME picks up for you.

Even if you have checked luggage, if you want to take them with you, you can. Just don't put the yellow tags on. When you get to MCO go to the turnstyles and get your luggage. Take them with you to the bus. They will load them in their storage and then you will have them when you get to your resort. I have never once heard of them losing anyone's luggage. Maybe someone else knows differently.

Not having to worry about your luggage is a very nice thing.

Thanks for the responses! We'll only be there for 4 days, so we don't need much. I'll just take the carryons with us. THanks!

To repeat, if you're not checking any luggage with your airline, then throw away those DME tags, you don't need them!

You are permitted to take your carry-ons with you into the cabin of the DME bus ONLY if they fit under your seat and/or on the overhead shelf. If they're too big, the driver will have to stow them in the cargo hold of the bus.

For what it's worth, I can't say I recall reading about DME losing anyone's luggage, so they must have a darn good record.

We go on December 3rd, and have not yet got our tags. Should we be worried?

As we booked our airline independantly, and the rest through AAA does this change anything?

Thanks

I think the resort has to set let the ME know of your arrival. I would check with them to see if they have done that.
