Evening all.

We've booked through kenwood travel to go to the grand Floridian for 8 nights this November. As part of the package we have magical express included.
Does anyone know if we have to do anything with this? Or where we need to go when we get to the airport? We've never used it before, we usually just get the free shuttle bus that virgin put on. Same for coming back to the airport at the end of the holiday. Do we need to book a specific time or can we just turn up and get on the bus? I'm assuming kenwood will sort it but trying to find out as much as I can in advance.

Thanks!

Follow the signs at the airport & there is a desk where they check you in & send you to the bus queue for your resort. We had to wait about 20 mins till it was full. On the way back you get info left the night before on what time they will pick you up.

Perfect, thanks.

Have Kenwood booked you onto the ME, or do you need to call the ME line youself?

Don't really know the answer to your question as we usually book DIY rather than through a travel agent and always book MDE ourselves. Adds to the excitement speaking with the Disney CM to organise it all. :cool1:

ME is always included when you book a WDW Resort. I never book ME in advance, always just go to the check in desk at the airport when I arrive. At checking in at the resort I ask for ME back to the airport and they will take care of that reservation. You get the info the night before you leave. Usually the bus will pick you up 4 hours before your plane departure time.

ME does have to be booked in advance - it's part of their deal with MCO that they're not supposed to take walkups.

I never booked ME in advance and never had a problem getting on a bus (going from MCO to the resort). They never asked or let me know that I should have made reservations in advance. I've used ME from the start (2005?) and travel to WDW almost every year.

it's included with your booking, so as long as you have a hotel reservation, they will transport you, wether you have booked ME or not

but making a reservation is very highly recommended, as it will enable Disney to better schedule their shuttles, because they can monitor flights arriving, and know how many people will be on buses
It will also be more important for US guests who have their bags handled by ME at the bagage claim. We don't get the yellow tags here, so booking ME might be less important for us. But that's a step we should all do if we intend on riding the ME

It's like clearing your table at the food court, you won't be banned from ever eating there again if you leave your tray and your trash on the table. But it's always best to do it.

booking ME can be done in 2 minutes online https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/airport-transportation-reservation/ and this will actually take less time than having the check in desk CM do it for you upon arrival.

thanks for the link..

we've changed our plans, so now part of our group of 8 will take ME, while the rest go in the minivan with all the luggage...

I don't see the comparison to clearing your table at the food court? Checking in for ME (without a reservation) is very fast (less then 2 minutes), only scanning your magic band (if you have one from a previous visit as a non-USA citizen). Of course I have no problem booking ME in advance but I never did because I didn't know it was necessary. As I said before I never had a problem getting on a bus and was never told I'd better book in advance. For my next trip to WDW I will book in advance (don't want to be the person at the foodcourt not clearing my table) :)
But if you are not able to book in advance I know from my own experience that Disney will not leave you at the airport.

I booked our transport last night via the link above. It was only a matter of moments.
I have heard that it's not strictly necessary but anything I can do now to make the arrival process easier has to be a good thing. As we're doing a split flight on the way out this year we'll be tired and grouchy and not in the mood to fill in forms!
