Do Canadians get mailed the magical express things (i.e.. the luggage tags and stickers things that get attached to your luggage) or do we have to go to baggage claim and get our checked luggage and then go to the bus?

We booked through CAA last year and we got them but this year booked everything separate and the CM said we won't get that stuff.

You should still be getting your ME luggage tags if you are Canadian. People in the States are shipped magic bands instead. The cm you spoke with either didn't know you were Canadian or didn't know Canadians don't receive magicbands until they check into their resort. :goodvibes

We've always gotten ours about 42 days from our check in date. We always book ourselves directly with Disney Destinations. Have you perhaps booked very close to your arrival date and there isn't enough time for DME to send them?

Also, If your flight gets in after 10:30 pm you will pick up your luggage from the baggage carousel & take it to The Magical Express yourselves. In that case you would not need the yellow baggage tags.

Whew! I called to link my flights and the cm wasn't sure how we got our voucher for ME and said we would have to go to baggage claim. Called again and another cm assured me that we do get vouchers and tags

I love the dis boards. You get an answer to anything pretty quickly

We are traveling in August and I registered my flight information through Magical Express using this direct link: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/airport-transportation-reservation/?bhcp=1 . I typically call back and register for ME through Disney but I thought I'd try the direct route this time. The strange thing is that I already received my bag tags and Magical Express Booklet last week for our August trip! I read others had received them early as well rather than the traditional 45 days out but I'm not sure if it was only people who booked direct? The envelope was post marked in Mississauga, Ontario :confused3

We have always received tags and boarding passes in the mail when you book early enough. We just came home from a 5 night trip that was hastily planned. Booked Tuesday evening for Saturday departure. Obviously not enough time to get dme things in the mail. All you do is go to the dme desk when you arrive at mco with your reservation information. They look after your boarding pass at that time. As for the checked luggage just show them your airline bag tags and they will look after them, provided you do not arrive after 10 pm when the service is not available. One thing to keep in mind is it could take 3 to 5 hours to get your luggage delivered to the room. We were almost 6 hours. So do not fret as it will all work out. Have a good holiday

It also depends on which airport you fly out of from Canada. If it's Pearson or one of the others that has US border pre-clearance, it's fine to use your DME luggage tags. But if you can't do US border clearance in Canada, and have to do it in Orlando, then you'll have to claim your bags in Orlando before going through border clearance there rendering your luggage tags useless as you'll already have it with you.

Magical Express should be linked only to your resort reservation, not any other part of your "booked separately" travel itinerary. They should continue to mail tags to Canadians.

FYI, the system isn't flawless. The ME tags may fall off, or airline staff like the one I met in Seattle may want to cut them off since they are neither airline tags nor name tags.

In theory, ME works for any luggage with tour name clearly marked on it, regardless of ME tags. As long as the airline bag check information gets in the hands of ME staff in Orlando after you arrive. It just might take a few hours longer to sort without tags.

I booked a room only reservation directly with Disney in September 2013 for a 9 day stay in February 2014. I kept checking the mail for the luggage tags as I thought they should come sometime in December. I called WDW in January to ask about the tags and ME information. It was noted on my reservation that we were taking ME and our flight was also noted. The CM told me that the tags should arrive any day and that if they didn't I could pick up our luggage and take it to the ME kiosk with our reservation and we would be given travel documents and put on the next bus. The tags never came so we picked up our luggage and went to the ME kiosk. Our luggage was put on the bus and it was no problem.
