Magical Express

So I've done magical express countless times but never the way I need to use it in October. Need advice to make things as smooth as possible. Here's the story.... My sister and her gf were going to go to Disney in October for a 4 day trip. Well the gf just backed out and my sister doesn't want to go by herself so she asked if I would like to go. So I of course said yes. I will be coming in though a day after she checks into the resort and I will also be leaving on a later flight the day we check out. Will magical express give us two separate books to get on the bus to the resort? Will I get a seperate letter than my sister for the bus ride back to the airport? I know that Disney won't leave me stranded either way but I'd kinda like to prepare myself just in case.

I think you'll only get one booklet with the vouchers (sent to your sister's mailing address), but you don't actually need to have the booklet with you. When you get to the airport, head to the ME counter and check-in there. They'll issue you the voucher to get on the bus to the resort. Just make sure your sister changes the name on the reservation to your name. I'm sure folks forget/lose their booklet, so the ME counter is the default back-up plan!

For the return trip, I'm pretty sure they'll issue you each a voucher. Be sure to check with guest services before your departure day to make sure ME has the right flight information for each person.

I'm almost 100 percent sure that having folks arrive and depart on different flights aren't an issue with ME (as long as everyone is arriving on or after the check-in date and departing before or on the check-out date). Whenever I've called to sign-up for ME, they've always asked for the flight information for each guest.

Your sister will get the DME packet, with luggage tags and your arrival voucher in it. She will have to give you your tag and your voucher. Disney doesn't send out mulitiple packets.
When it's time to leave, you will get that notice under the door the day before telling you what time your pickup is. I imagine that they will have one for each of you. I know that my dh left BWV 3 days before I did..he got his own voucher the day before he left. I got mine several days later.
My question would be how far apart are the flights? Have your sister make the changes on the DME stuff now. Perhaps they can get the corrected packet out to you before you leave.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out I will be able to take the same flight as her to Orlando so that makes that part much easier but I will still need to take a different flight home. It's only 3 hours later but hopefully they will let me take a later bus to I can enjoy the resort a little more. Thanks for the replys.

It's not just a matter of DME "letting" you take two different buses. You need to be SCHEDULED on two different buses. Your sister needs to call DME and provide separate departure flight information for each of you.

Yep, totally understand to do that. I meant it as hopfully they don't say "ohh well it's only 3 hours apart its ok to take the same bus." We will be calling them this week to make all the necessary arrangements.

If you have Magic Bands, you don't need the booklet as long as you are scheduled on the bus. They asked us if we had the bands and made us use them. Leaving the resort though, they wanted the tickets.

This is correct. DS and I are flying into MCO on the same flight but he is starting in Boston and I'm starting in Portland. I asked ME if the could send separate packets but they would not. They did, however, send it to me 3 months ahead so I "would have plenty of time to get it to him". The booklet had a voucher for me and one for him. I sent his to him, along with his luggage tag, just in case we end up coming in separately.

Ds is going home 3 days before me and that was no problem. I just gave them all our flight info.
