Hello everyone,

I have a question for you guys

If I want to use the Disney Magical Express only on the way back, should I wait until I'm at the hotel to put my Disney tag?

TIA

you only need the yellow tags for your luggage on your way to Disney, not for the way home. If you are flying on a RAC participating airline, you may check your luggage at your resort. If your airline does not participate in RAC, you will have to bring the luggage on Magical Express with you (they store it under the bus) and check it yourself once you arrive at MCO. Which airline are you flying and which resort are you staying at?

Does anyone know if POP is still doing the Southwest check-iin? I remembering reading that somewhere.

I'm staying at Pop and flying Southwest this Sept. so I'd really like to know this too.

I took this information directly out of my 2009 unofficial guide to Disney World...it says

"When it's time to go home, you can check your baggage and receive your boarding pass at the front desk of your Disney resort. This service is available to all Disney-resort guests, even those who don't use Magical Express service. ( folks who have rental cars, for example ). Resort check-in counters are open from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m., and you must check in no later than three hours before your flight. At press time, the following airlines pariticpated in the program. AirTran, Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, TED, United and US Airways.
Southwest Airlines doesn't participate, but the resort front desk or concierge will check you in online and print a boarding pass for you. You'll have to check any bags at the Southwest counter at the airport."

I can't locate anything about just taking Magical Express only on the way home. I would assume you can. I would try calling WDW to ask that question. Let us know.

To the best of our knowledge, SW is participating at POP still. There has been word that they are hoping to expand to other WDW resorts down the road but haven't heard anything yet.
So...you should be able to use RAC at POP if you are flying home on SW.

As far as what to do when taking it just one-way, back to your home airport. If you have already booked your DME reservation, both ways, then you don't need to do anything else. You can use RAC, if flying a participating airline, on your checkout day. Or you can just show up at the DME bus stop, with your luggage, at the desiginated time. You will be given a notice the day before telling you what time to be out at the stop.

If you haven't yet made a DME reservation, you can do that at the resort. I would do it the day you arrive...just to leave them plenty of time to put your request into the system.

I used them yesteraday at POP and it was flawless...My luggage arrived in Ft. Lauderdale with NO problems!:thumbsup2

If I only want to use Magical Express on the way back to the airport what do I have to do to sign up and how does it work on that day?
