When I booked our June 2009 trip last week, the CM (Buddy) told me that Magical Express would still be complimentary for our trip. He was chatty and said how glad he was to tell me that since gas prices are so high.

I know this isn't consistent with the rumors, but that is what he said.
Go figure?

I believe that ME is contracted through 2010 as free of charge, It is in Disney's best interest to keep it free so guests do not rent cars and go off site for meals, other attraction so on, I think we are still safe for a couple of years of free shuttle service to and from the airport!

I think that the contract in question was with the airport authorities and taxi and bus services. I don't think that the contract stipulated that ME would be free for WDW guests.
