Hello everyone,

Sorry if this is already answered some place, but after searching for about 20 minutes now, I gave up, and thought I would ask here.

My dad suddenly finds he has to use an ECV pretty much all the time now. Does the Magical Express provide access. I have only ridden it once, and seem to remember stairs to get in. I am not certain he could make those stairs.

Thanks for any help...I just want this trip to be special, I fear it may be his last. :sad1:

Yes. There's a lift in the back. The seats push forward and the wheelchair/scooter is tied down in the open space. I transferred to the nearest seat once my chair and I were loaded up the ramp.

When you make arrangements and check-in just make sure you report your need of the ECV. They'll make sure a lift bus is pulled for you.

Here are pictures of the stairs, so you can decide if he could make it up:

Not all DME buses are wheelchair accessible, so it's best to let them know when making the reservation and also when checking in.

Thanks for all the help. Looking at the pictures helped make my mind up. I would rather he have the easiest time of it. I just want it to be perfect.

Again, I thank both of you for you help.

Is there a separate bus for wheelchairs and scooter. My friend and I taking our children to Disney. One in wheelchair and one in scooter.

Many Thanks

Charleyann

The bus pictures here are the DME (Disney's Magical Express) bus that transports people from the airport to their WDW resort and back.

There are pictures of the buses you can use to get from the resort to the parks in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.
