Hi, I am flying with Virgin and have booked transfers with them. However I also booked the ME with Disney and my pack arrived today. I was wondering if we would be better going with ME?

How reliable is the luggage service with ME?

Well we used ME in Oct 05. Personally we found the service great. I cant comment on Virgin. I think they stopped at 4 places and we were the first to be dropped off.

We had labels we needed to attatch to our luggage and we received our luggage must be close to mid night For us it was too late and we were chasing them up. We took our twin boys who were both in nappies. We took enough for the flight and two extra ones for the hotel. Lucky we were prepared. Also it was annoying we both wanted to sleep, but had to wait up until we got our luggage so we can unpack and get things ready for the kids before hand.

Yes it was good, but I would perhaps collect my luggage myself and take it with me. I dont know if you are allowed to do this. If you dont mind waiting around then it will be fine. Maybe we were just unlucky.

I think you can take your luggage yourself which I guess I will do as I am a bit worried about having to wait to long for our bags. I am taking my DD case on as hand luggage with some clothes in however I know I will be worrying untill my bags arrive.

I think my DD will like going on a Disney bus rather than the virgin transfer bus.

It was good we had a video to watch on the way there. I agree it does feel extra special doing this.

If you can pick up your luggage then I suggest you do this. It was too long in my opinion. It might not happen to everyone.

The information I received says if you want to take your luggage on the bus yourself, don't put on the labels so I think we will collect the luggage our self, don't won't DD woken up by them dropping the luggage off. as I am sure she will want an early night.

My sister has given me her left over loose dollars so we can tip the driver.

I personally I think that the luggage system in Orlando doesn't take that long.
Usually the bags are going around on the first carousel before you get through customs. (if their not, they usually don't take long) and it takes about 10 mins to get to the second carousel. We have never had to wait longer than that and we've been to MCO many many times.

I would rather wait for the bags and unpack as soon as I get to the room.

We used the disney express in January, we also carried our bags on ourself so that we wouldnt have the wait in the hotel. The way the buses work is that they have a line for each hotel and the buses pick you up dependant on how long you have been waiting, the idea being you shouldn't need to wait more than 20 minutes or so for the bus and then it goes direst to you resort. We used mears the year before last and stopped at 5 hotels before we got to ours (took about 2 hours ), the magical express was so much better and i love the film they show, also the CM drivers was very funny and had us in fits of giggles

We are going again in Jan 08 and BA have told me the Magical express may be stopped by then as it was only suppsed to be in for 1 year in 2005 - 2006, has anyone else heard this??

Virgin transfers to WDW resorts are done through Mears who will use the Magical Express buses that's what we had on our recent trip and they put our cases in the storage bays underneath the bus and it was locked up securely between locations. We didn't worry once about it all they could not possibly have been any better they excel at what they do. Enjoy your stay

I've booked ME and plan to use them, I also ticked the transfer box on my VH booking do I need to tell them I won't be needing the transfer? TIA

Same here booked transfers with virgin but also got a booking with ME.

I think out of courtesy you should inform the virgin rep at MCO that you will not need the transfer otherwise somebody could be waiting for a no show to turn up and hold up other people.

Hi, we used the ME this June and it was brilliant. We had our luggage delivered to our room, when we arived at the hotel (POR), we quickly freshened up and then took the boat to DTD for something to eat, by the time we got back our cases were in our room. Were going again next year and cant wait to use it again. We were told originally that it was only for a year but I think due to it being so popular they have extended it untill 2011 ( or so we were told)
