Can you us Magical express if you are driving a rental car to the Orlando airport, have purchased a package, and then are flying out of the Orlando airport?

Use it to get from the airport to WDW? Yes.

This is not correct...

Because of Disney's contract with the airport they are only able to pick people up from the airport on the day they arrive by plane.

They cannot pick you up under any other circumstances.

Can you clarify what you mean?

Exactly when and in what direction(s) do you hope to get a ride on a DME bus?

As a registered guest at a WDW owned-and-operated resort, transportation-wise you are entitled to the following:

  • bus ride from MCO to your resort on your day of check-in at that resort
  • bus ride from your resort to MCO on your day of check-out

I've been on this forum since before DME, and read a lot from some very hooked-up, informed sources, and I've never before read that one must fly into MCO on the day of the DME ride, only that the DME ride must occur on the day of check-in.

Earlier this month, we used Disney's Magical Express (DME) from Orlando International to WDW five days after we arrived at Orlando International. (We rented a car and visited family before our WDW stay; I returned the car at the airport on our check-in day at WDW.)

I agree with Eric (CleveRocks).

A DME Guest Services cast member told me that I could use DME to travel from MCO to our WDW resort on our resort check-in day, regardless of how I arrived at MCO.

Of course, most guests arrive by air. But you can also arrive at the airport by rental car, hotel shuttle, private car, taxi, rental car courtesy shuttle, MCO Hyatt elevator, or any other way.

If the reservationist with whom you are making DME reservations insists on flight information, just supply a flight number for an arrival on your resort check-in day at the approximate time you plan to arrive at the airport. You're not cheating.

This is my situation as well. I have a 4-day cruise on the Wonder prior to our stay at CBR. I plan on renting a van at the port, dropping the family off at MCO while I return the car, and taking ME to CBR. From everything I've heard, I'll probably need to supply a flight number for a plane arriving about the same time as my rental return.
