okay, we got our Magical Express package yesterday. as always, there were two yellow luggage tags total for my wife and i. this is the first time we have booked through Disney and not used a travel agent.
on previous trips, our travel agent always got us an additional two yellow tags as we both check in two bags at the airport and needed a total of four tags.
so i called Disney reservations and they guy told me it doesn't matter whether or not you have yellow tags on your luggage. but i told him that i would feel better knowing that all my bags had the yellow tags, so he gave me the number for Magical Express.
so the lady at Magical Express (who was very nice, but made no sense) told me the same thing. she said whether or not you have the yellow tags, you will still get your bags at the same time.
so i asked her "why the yellow tags then?" to which she replied: "well, it is much quicker for us to scan and sort the bags and get them to the right resort"
so, i asked her back "well, then are you saying that bags without yellow tags are less likely to make it to the right resort."
to which she said: "well, we have to look up your airline information and the process does take longer, but it will make no difference to you. you will still get your bags three hours after you check into your room."
so i requested that she go ahead and send me two more yellow tags, as i would rather be safe than sorry. why would i want two of my bags "bar coded" and two of my bags left out there for some person at Magical Express to have to look up the information. it just seems to me that without the tags, you have a greater chance of not getting all your luggage at the same time.
am i right? or does it really matter?
