Magical express without Disney tags

I'm enrolled for magical express but due to some miscommunication we won't be able to get our Disney luggage tags.has anyone been through this before.Pls share your experience of baggage been recieved properly.
 
With Magic Your Way packages you get a pretty luggage tag featuring the castle. These are nice, but NOT related to Magical Express.

When you have magical express they send you bright yellow stickers you put on your bag. These stickers are what alert baggage claim to send the bags to Disney and indicate to which resort the bags should be routed. Without these tags, your luggage WILL NOT be picked up by Magical Express and taken to the Resort.

I suppose you could pick up the bags yourself from baggage claim and then get on the Magical Express bus if you indeed have a reservation, but that will add a good 1/2 hour to your wait at the airport and you will have to lug the luggage yourself.

I would make double and then triple sure that I really had a reservation with Magical Express.

This isn't exactly true. We booked our Jan 07 trip through a TA at the last minute. Though our TA recieved our ME tags, they didn't get to us in time, and I didn't expect them to. (they were in the mailbox the day we left, the person who watched our house told us). We were told to just go to the ME desk and they would straighten it out. We also didn't have our vouchers.

We went down to the desk (I had all of our conf #s stored in my Centro). We told the lady about our bags and she told us no worries, just describe them to her in as much detail as possible and they would get them just like any other ME tagged bag! We had no issues at all, checked into BWI, came back about 4 hours later, and our bags were already in our room!

I would suggest, though, doing something to your bag to make it easier to identify. My description for her was "black normal sized suitcase with a YOAMD luggage tag" :rolleyes: Bet there were none of those down there on the carousels :rotfl: Like I said, though, we had absolutley no problems at all. Even so, I am hoping to get my ME tags on time this time around :goodvibes

:goodvibes I can totally see doing it this way, too! We don't have any kids, though, and had essentials in the carry-on, so we were good to go! If I had kids and things they needed, I might think differently!
 
We never use the tags and just claim our bags. We have them with us and have everything we need then. Besides you end up waiting @ the bus so why not wait for your bags.
 
I was told the last time we booked ME that if you don't have the luggage tags in place that you must collect your bags yourself and take them to line up for your resort bus.
The PP was lucky that they collected them for her! That was so nice. Don't get there counting on that happening though. If you know you need the tags and don't have them- you'll probably have to get your luggage from baggage claim yourself before checking in for ME.
Some people do this anyway so they have their bags with them and don't have to wait up to 3 hours for them to be delivered.

Booked a last minute, impromptu trip over Labor Day weekend to participate in the Castle Suite Tour!! There was NO WAY our tags and paperwork were going to arrive in time and I was advised by Member Services at DVC to just head to the ME check-in and hand the CM my luggage claim tags from the airline. That was ALL it took!! They scanned them and handed them back to me. My bags arrived within an hour of me arriving at SSR.

Sorry to hijack, but please tell me more about the castle suite tour....we were there the same weekend, but I had no idea this was being offered :sad2:
 
We were there the second week of August and used ME, but we did have our yellow stickers.

However, we got there around noon and the line to check-in was over thirty minutes. The people behind us in line didn't check their bags through. The mom was standing in our line and her DH and the kids retrieved the luggage. We all boarded the bus at the same time.

This was offered to DVC members on Aug. 31!! We could register for a 20 minute tour and got to leasrn all kinds of fun little facts. I will probably never win the Castle Suite stay, but this was easily the next best thing.
 
I booked a last minute trip in Aug. I was leaving a week after I booked it. Disney overnighted my ME package. Being the airhead I am I forgot to put the sticky tags on our luggage. We just went to baggage claim picked up our luggage and went to ME check in, when we got to the resort we just left them with baggage. It wasn't too much of a hassle, just some additional walking.
