Hi All,

My DW, DD (will be 16 months) and I will be traveling to the World in October of next year. First off, does anyone know if Disney will still be running their Magical Express service then? I was hoping to use it. However, my wife and I got talking about what we do with our DD. We are going to get her a seat on the plane for the flight down so we will have her car seat with us, however, can we use the car seat on the bus that takes us to the resort? We would assume that there is some way to do so because there must be a lot of young children arriving by that bus.

Next thing we were wondering about what how we handle the Disney buses from resort to park, etc. Does she just sit on our lap in those cases? If so, we may opt for either the Poly or BC due to its convient walking / monorail options. We could limit our bus riding then.

I guess we could always rent a car, put our seat in it and just drive everywhere, but that is kind of a pain!

What are your thoughts????

Thanks for your inputs!

We just took a trip with our 11 month old and just turned 2 year old. We used ME and did not rent a car. We didn't use a car seat on the plane for either child, but from what I understand, the car seats cannot be put in the seats on the ME bus, they just get stored with the luggage. Apparently, busses don't have seat belts, and are designed to be safe without car seats. :confused3

We did us Disney transportation everywhere we went. My 2 year old sat in a seat herself and the 11month old sat on one of our laps. We also had to deal with loading and holding the stroller. We stayed at WL and the boat to the MK came in handy because we just pushed the stroller on and off. So, I would recommend staying anywhere that don't have to take a bus to at least one park. Staying at BW/BC/YC or Swan or Dolphin would allow you to boat to Epcot and MGM and make life a little easier. But staying at the Poly/CR/WL/GF would also make life easier with the monorail. So I guess it all depends which park you plan on spending the most time at. HTH.

We have a 20 month old daughter and here's what we do when we go to WDW. We fly down and buy her a seat on the plane and put her in her carseat. Then we hire a towncar to drive us from the airport to WDW so we can keep our daughter in her carseat. Once in WDW, we do use Disney transportation, but we also try to stay at a resort where we can use the monorail, walk, or take a boat so we minimize the buses too. We skipped taking Magical Express so that we could use our carseat (and we also did that last summer when we took a Disney cruise-we hired a towncar to drive us from WDW to Port Canaveral and back-our daughter was 3.5 months old then so we did not feel safe having her ride in a bus all that way). I know it's sorta hypocritical to take a towncar to use the carseat but then use Disney buses, but like I said, we do try to minimize the buses and we figure they are all pretty short rides on low speed roads, as opposed to the long ride from the airport to WDW on the highway.

Hmm... thanks for the replies. Looks like we might have to rent a car and drive their on our own. Any other thoughts?
