Magical Express -- vans??

We've never had an issue with ME, but my mom has said that she saw a thread on here somewhere that Mears was putting some people on vans instead of the charter busses. Particularly people who arrive later at night.

We have an after-hours arrival in October and I'm now concerned. We have three children, two of whom need car seats to ride in a regular vehicle. I will not have them ride in a regular van without car seats, but we are not bringing our car seats with us since we expect that we'd be on regular ME and resort transportation busses.

What happens if Mears tries to put us on a van instead of a bus? Has this happened to you? If I stand my ground re: car seats, do they have car seats or am I going to find myself without a ride and scrambling to hire a limo service with car seats at midnight?

The instances of Mears putting ME customers on a van instead of a bus are very, very rare. If they do try to do this just point out that the children will need car seats and let them handle it, its not your problem.

I have to agree.....it just doesn't happen that often. If it did happen, it would be up to DME/Mears to provide legal seating for all the passengers.

Mears actually has car seats so this could be a "no brainer" issue. They just set them up and off you go. I would not spend much time stressing about it. Mears, as a general rule, doesn't want to lose their livery permit because they were stupid. So just ask for them if you need them. I doubt it will be an issue.

And a van might be nicer. Probably not stopping at two other locations to dump off hundreds of customers!
