I got my ME tags and there`s a big AK at the top of the tag. We`re staying at the ASMu which is noted lower on the tag. What does the AK stand for? I hope it isn`t for Animal Kingdom and our liuggage gets mis-routed.

I've got the same thing, I know its in the Animal Kingdom area (all stars) and Animal Kingdom Lodge, maybe that's the way they separate for the busses? Just taking a guess:)

Throw out the tags (or use them in a scrapbook!) and get your own bags before you get on the ME bus. Trust me, you will be happier if you do. No wonder, no worry, and no confusion as to whom to blame if something does go wrong.

I'm staying at the Coronado Springs and mine say AK at the top too. I believe its because my resort is considered on of the Animal Kingdom resorts...they also have Epcot resorts, Magic Kingdom resorts and MGM resorts. This gives them an initial routing idea as to what area of Walt Disney World your luggage is going to, then it gets more specific as to exactly which resort you're staying at. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it too but I looked my resort up and its considered an AK resort, not the Animal Kingdom Lodge, just a AK resort. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I`ll put the tags on our bags and stop worrying. ME sounds like a great perk. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

every hotel is declared but which park its closes to
all stars are animal kingdom
Contemporary would be magic kingdom, etc.
this will help when driving around too

We were at BC and ours said Epcot on them, with BCV noted lower down. Have no worries.....DME works wonderfully. I know there are some who feel more comfortable with getting their own bags, but I haven't had an issue yet and I've used it twice. For the most part, most of the 'horror' stories have been from the early days of DME in May and June. I think that everything is worked out quite well now.
It is so wonderful to say goodby to your bags at your home airport and see them next in your room. We had our bags delivered to our room about 30 minutes after we were able to get into the room. If you grab your own bags in baggage claim at the airport, you have to lug them through the airport (and it can be a hike to the DME desk), then off the bus, through check-in. Then if your room isn't ready, and sometimes(more often than not) they are not ready if it's before 1ish, you will have to leave them with Bell Services. THen when you do get your room, you have to have BS deliver them to your room or you have to go get them yourselves. And there is a tip involved at that point.
Nope, I'll let DME handle my bags. Much nicer.

We're staying at the Pop and my tags say AK on them too. I wonder why? I wouldn't think Pop is a AK resort, but maybe so!

Staying at WL and ours says MK on the top

If you throw out the tags, you won't be able to use the automatic resort luggage dropp off. You will have to pick up your own bags, and bring them yourself to the bus.
