Magical Express Shuttle

We usually take our bags on the bus, so we do tip the driver. If we have all bags delivered to the resort, we give him a smaller tip.

I'll bite... why tip the driver if he doesn't handle your bags? Do you tip the driver taking you to/from the parks?

We generally don't use Disney bus service to/from parks. I tip the Minnie Van, Lyft/Uber drivers, so I tip DME too.

I have seen both Tipping and not tipping, it is as common curtesy however not required

Tipping is at your discretion. However, in the US it is considered a courtesy to tip anyone that offers a service to you.

I do tip Magical Express drivers. They store my luggage underneath the bus and put it curbside for me.

I do not tip park bus drivers, but I certainly thank them and let them know that I appreciate the job they are doing. aLso a simply "good morning " or have a "nice day" goes a long way!!

We do not tip but we do not bring our bags on the bus. I tip for one to one, individual/personal services being provided. Buses are not individual services. If I did have bags, that does include an individual/personal service

I believe most, if not all, of the DME buses have a sign hanging above the driver's head that says something like "Tips graciously accepted for exceptional service", or something to that effect. I think its more common/expected to tip when a driver handles your bags, but some feel compelled to tip by seeing this sign. Sometimes, the drivers go above and beyond by making a fun ride, providing commentary along the way, etc. I could see people tipping drivers in those instances, but I don't think it's necessary per se.

Resurrecting this thread to ask:

If bag handling is not part of it, how much do you tip? $5? $3?

I usually don't unless they are handling my bag. If I was them do something special for another guest I might give them $2.

$0
I tip when someone provides me personal service, for me and me alone (or my family/party)
A ride on ME is not that, it's driving an entire bus full of people. I wouldn't tip the Disney bus drivers that get me back and forth to the parks. This is no different. If they aren't handling something FOR ME then I don't understand why a tip would be even thought of.
I find their signs incredibly distasteful.

I always find it odd to tip when it's not a job that is lower wages thus working for tips. They are getting payed decent to do there job they shouldn't need tips from that. Waiters don't get payed min thus tips from doing a good job balance it. I feel most people tip at these type of things feel pressured from others to do so (the signs).

I worked as a cashier or stock worker I never got tips nor could we accept them if people tried.. because we're just doing our job..

Their job that they get paid for doing is driving a bus.

Magical Express inc!udes your luggage going from your home airport all the way to your room.

Guests who choose to not avail themselves of the luggage transport ccmponent - either consciously or by arriving outside the operating hours - thus create additional work for the bus drivers, beyond their actual jobs for which they get paid.

Therefore, tip.

I do not consider a sign asking to consider the driver distasteful. They are not Disney employees. And we are a tipping society. I always bring out bags on the bus. I usually tip 5 for taking them on and off the bus. I tip bell services for taking the bags and again when delivered because they are usually different people. For me I consider I’m lucky that I don’t miss a few dollars here and theee but even a couple dollars could make a difference to someone not as blessed.

So every single DME driver is putting the bags under the bus out of the goodness of their hearts? Sorry, not buying they're not getting paid for moving your luggage 10' (5' onto to the bus and 5' off).
