I got the following information today:

There will be 4 Zones:

Red Zone - Magic Kingdom
Contemporary, Polyneisian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge & Villas, Fort Wilderness

Blue Zone - Epcot
Beach Club & Villas, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn & Villas, Caribbean, Pop Century

Green Zone - Animal Kingdom
DAK Lodge, All Star Sports - Music -Movies, Coronado Springs

Black Zone - Downtown Disney
Port Orleans FQ & RS, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs

Also there will still be a maximum of only 4 stops for the guest. The buses are going to be dispatched on a "as needed" bases so if guests from more then 4 resorts in one zone arrive within a 30 minute window, 2 buses will simply be sent out to that zone.

Thanks Tyler...good to have someone 'inside'!!! See you in June!

Thank you!

Is this the order we get dropped off? ie. red zone CR,POLY then GF

Who do you call or do you have a phone number to set up ME?

Thanks for the info Tyler. I know there were lots of folks chomping at the bit for this info.

We aren't going until February, so have lots of time to see how it shakes out.

Thanks for the great update Tyler! :teeth:

I'd also love to know if this is the order that the busses will unload in - we're staying at POP again - just wondering if we'll be the last stop.

Tyler,

Are there any rumors about what will happen to the regular Mears service.

Earlier this week I received my confirmation papers for my October trip, No mention of Magical Express, but the usual flourescent pink Mears dicsount vouchers were enclosed, so I assume the regular Mears service continues to call at Disney resorts.

I would guess that Disney resorts account for a fairly large proportion of Mear's business. Will they be cutting down the size of their regular fleet?

Just call the regular reservation phone number and tell them you want DME on your reservation. Be sure to have your reservation number in front of you when you call.

I have no clue. Localdriver would know, he's the Mears expert. :)

How many stops will the motor coach make between the airport and my Resort?
A: Anywhere from three to four stops are possible

Four stops BEFORE you get to your resort means there can be 5 different resorts on your bus. Sounds like most of us misread that to mean 4 resorts on the bus. Making an extra stop may be faster than having to wait an extra 5-10 minutes for a bus to fill up.

okay so if a group shows up that wants COnt, Polyn, WL, GF and FW - then 2 buses will show up? because this would require the first bus to stop at more than 4 places.

am I understanding this correctly?

Also if they have to call more buses - do you who how long the wait time will be? (I know you probably don't - but I hate to wait on buses when I am not even in my resort yet - I have more patience once I am at WDW)

Localdriver already posted that Mears was getting rid of a lot of their other buses.

I pity the guest who has to take Mears to a Disney resort because he bought his Mears tranfsers when he booked his vacation (before ME was announced) and didn't know to change. Same with guests who book a last minute trip and doesn't have 10 days notice to make a ME reservation. I wonder if Mears is going to be allowed to move those pax over to a ME bus.

I'd expect Mears bus service to SOG and S/D to be horrible. They'll have to combine those resorts with offsite resorts.

The transition to ME actually increases the fleet, but many of the older busses are going away, in favor of DME coaches, plus more new charter coaches.
Bus service to SOG and S/D is not a high # thing. I've only been to SOG once in 2 years. S/D, Swan/Dolphin is not often, usually only groups or convention charters. It is usually vans or town cars.

Actually, I think Mears regular service to off-site resorts and these will improve due to the exclusiveness of DME focusing on Disney only resorts.
