Our plane arrives at 6:00 pm. It is Easter week and I wonder if we should pick up our own bags or let ME handle them. I know when the hotels are super busy, the luggage takes much longer to be delivered. Also, do we still use the yellow tags if we are picking them up ourselves? Thanks!

If you use the yellow tags, the luggage will not come out on the carousel for you to pick it up. They pull the yellow tagged luggage before the luggage is sent out.

Do you have any plans for that night? If not, then just pick it up yourself. If you do, I would let them handle it so that you have more time.

DME suggests that you will get your luggage within 3 hours of landing. If you choose not to use DME for luggage, you probably should not use the luggage tags. I'm not sure if they retrieve the DME luggage before it goes on the carousel or after.

If it were me, I would just pack swimwear, sleep gear and other necessaries in my carry-on and let DME do the rest. DME luggage service is one of our favorite "luxuries" when we travel to Disney!

Thanks for your help. I think we'll just pack necessities in a carry on and hope everything goes smoothly when we arrive! We can't wait!! :tigger:

DON'T put the yellow tags on if you are getting your own bags. If you do put them on and go to pick them up you'll be waiting a very long time because they will not be there.:goodvibes

I asked the same question in another thread. Our flight arrives around 9pm and someone suggested that I let DME handle the luggage and ask that it not be delivered to our room until the next morning so that we could get a good night's sleep. I can put whatever we need for that night and the next morning in my carryon. I thought that was a good idea -- I wasn't crazy about having to wait at baggage claim (while I could be on the DME on my way to BLT) and schlepping the luggage from one end of the terminal to the other.

I read your post. Our flight arrives Thursday at 8:30 pm....the day before Good Friday. We are going to let ME take the bags and just have bell hop deliver to the room in the morning. We will pack carry ons with enough for the evening. I had never thought of asking bell hop to deliver in the morning. Whoever posted that was brilliant.

I have arrived later than 10 where DME doesn't get your bags. That is a hassle. Going down to baggage claim to get your bags, then back up to switch sides of the airport, back down and the long hallway to DME. Unless there is a pressing need for your bag right away, I would let disney get them.

We fly home on Thursday while you are flying in.

Our flight arrives at 9pm -- I'm wondering what happens if our flight happens to be late and arrives after 10pm. By that time, my luggage will have already been checked in with the DME tags on them.

If you are delayed till 10 0r later you will need to stop at the DME desk and let them know about your bags. I always have a picture of our bags with my travel booklet so they can see what they look like in case the tags come off.

When we got our bags this Feb from DME the tags were reattached ( don't know what happened) they must have been ripped off and put back on.

Just let the DME desk know about your delay.:cool1:

We will let DME handle the luggage, bring necessities in a carryon, and hope we don't have any delays. I'm wondering if anyone knows how late bell services delivers? Would they really knock at your door at or after midnight? :sad2:
