Hello!:goodvibes
I'm sorry in advance if this question has already been asked...I just could not find the answer!
We arrive in WDW on Tuesday.:cool1: We just switched our reservation a couple of days ago from the Poly to GF. I forgot to ask the agent on the phone, but I am assuming we will not receive a new ME booklet. Since I have Poly tags, and it says Poly in my booklet, what should I do? Has anyone had experience with giving the Magical Express desk at MCO your claim numbers for luggage given to you by the airline? I have heard that is the best option, but it just makes me nervous, since no yellow tags will be attached to the bags. I think, but I may be wrong, that they will pull your luggage as long as they have the claim numbers and still bring it to your resort.
I have never had experience with this, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!:goodvibes

I would draw a line through the obsolete or incorrect information on the yellow tag and write in the updated information. Don't mark through the bar code. Now do not use a felt tip washable marker or easy writing fluid washable ball point pen. (For you old schoolers, use a fountain pen with permanent blue-black ink, not washable blue Skrip.)

While a different reservation number given to your latest reservation might make a difference, that difference will be small. If the bag does go to the wrong resort using electronic scanning, it will be rerouted to the correct resort using the information you wrote in.

You can leave off the yellow tags and show your baggage claim checks to the welcoming area CM but the bags will spend some time going around the carousel.

If your reservation number stayed the same, there will be no problem. If it did change, all the crossing out and writing in of new info may be to no avail. The tags get scanned as they come off the plane....and again prior to being put on a truck. If they scan a bag that shows a no longer valid reservation number?? Who knows what will happen to it. I can't say, with any certainty, if they will read what you wrote in.

Thank you for your help!:goodvibes Our reservation number did stay the same. So, I will cross out Poly and put in GF. I will double check with the ME desk when I get there to see if they need the claim numbers.
Thanks again!

You could always claim your bags if your worried about them and bring them to the bus.

It's more work on your side.

I had a very similar situation near the end of May. I did 2 resort switches in a matter of weeks when I was very close (less than 2 weeks) to my arrival date. I used a sharpie and blacked out the hotel codes printed on the tags inside the mickey heads and then in black ball point pen below crossed out the "old" hotel wrote the name of the hotel I was staying (wilderness lodge in my case). I got the advice from our fellow DISers :). There was no issue with the luggage arriving timely. I'm posting from my phone and I'm not sure how to link to the thread I had originally asked this same thing, but you can find it by searching my threads if you'd like.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Thank you for the advice! This sounds like what we are planning on doing- using a sharpie to write in the correct resort.
Thanks again!
