My daughter and I are going in to WDW in January. We are staying at POFQ. I did not book a package, just a room (I got our park tickets from Undercover Tourist). My question is, will we recieve ME tags from Disney before our trip, do I need to call to make a ME reservation, or do we just go to the ME counter when we arive at the Orlando airport??

You will need to call and add ME before you go. You cannot just go up to the ME counter at the airport if you have not made the reservation.

I think you have to make a reservation with Magical Express, they don't automatically know you'll be riding.

Call Magical Express at 866-599-0951 to make your reservation. You will need your reservation number and your flight information. They will then send you 1 luggage tag per person on the reservation. If you need more than one tag each, just tell them.

I think its best if you call ME, but I'm pretty sure I've seen other posts where people say its also okay to go up to the desk. As long as you have a reservation you should be okay. I think if you have checked bags they will take your luggage receipt and ask for a simple description. Like I said, I don't have any personal expieriance with going to the desk, this is just what I thought I had read in other posts. Best of luck!:thumbsup2

Sorry!! Didn't see that you posted the phone number until after I asked the question. Thank you!

Those people are wrong! Disney's agreement with OIA (MCO) requires all Magical Express passengers to have reservations.

Walkups get directed to the Mears Shuttle counter, where there's a charge - and they may be put on the DME bus after all.

You can call Disney reservations and give them your flight details. They will send you the ME booklet. It is such a great service, we love the TV with the characters talking about "the World" as you ride to your resort! ;)

I've been a "walk-up" on a couple of occasions (last minute trips) without a problem.

That shouldn't happen. I'm guessing you had a DME reservation in the system from when you booked your resort stay even if you didn't book far enough in advance to get a DME package in the mail before you went. You don't have to have the package and the vouchers in hand, but you are supposed to have a DME "reservation" in the system.

The other transportation providers--taxi cabs, shuttles, car services, etc.--insisted on that and as the PP noted it's part of Disney's contract with MCO.
