Hey there!

I'm going to visit Universal and Disney on Xmas week.

I land at MCO at approx. 10pm and travel (probably with Uber) with my family of 6 to Universal' resort.

After a few days we are going to be staying in a Disney's resort, and then return to MCO to rent a car to travel to Miami.

My question is-

We would like to use the Magical Express to get back to the airport.

When trying to book Magical Express online, they ask me for my flight no., which I do not have since I'm not flaying back yet...

Any suggestions?

Find a flight leaving about 2 hours after you want to get your rental and list it as your flight. You’ll be scheduled about 3 hours before your flight for your ME pickup.

You could rent a car at Disney and arrange to return the car to a different location. No need to go to MCO at all.

Great idea, thank you :-)

There are car rental companies in Disney?

Yes. There are Alamo and National at the “Car Care Center.” From personal experience. they will pick you up from a resort or Disney park entrance.

Traveler’s Tip; This may be obvious but have your driver’s license and a credit card. I arranged my rental on a whim (long story). To their credit, they arranged the booking and picked me up at Epcot within 15-minutes... and all just around closing time. However, I only had my magic band for expenses and a scan of my license on my phone. So, I had to make a trip back to the hotel and pick up in the morning.

It looks like Alamo and National also have an office at the Swan & Dolphin resort if you can walk from the Epcot resort area.

Looking at Google Maps, Hertz and Enterprise rent from the Bonnet Creek area hotels. Technically, still on Disney property but at the Hilton and Wyndham resorts. Call to see if they will pick you up at another Disney resort.

You don’t have to have a flight. Call Disney’s Magical Express and tell them you don’t have a flight. Tell them when you want to leave for the airport.

Oh OK, didn't know it's possible. Thank you! :-)

As a Disney resort guest, you are entitled to one trip from MCO to your resort and one trip from your resort to MCO. Those trips can be taken anytime between your check-in and check-out days, inclusive. They do not have to be taken in any particular order. You can take, zero, one or both of those trips.

Anytime you have something DME related that is even slightly out of the "normal" (i.e. the on-line form doesn't seem to address your situation) or you have any question at all about the service, ALWAYS call DME directly at 866 599-0951. DO NOT call Disney reservations (or any Disney number for that matter). DME is a separate company from Disney. The DME folks will be able to help you quickly and efficiently. Most Disney CMs have no clue how DME operates and all they can really do for you is fill out the on-line form just like you can. Calling Disney with a DME question will usually result in you being given incorrect information.
