Magical Express one way?

Is it possible to just take the magical express one way? We are coming in on Monday, but my dad, who lives in fl is going to pick us up from the airport and bring us to the hotel. We go home on Friday, but he will be gone by then so we need a way to get back to the airport. Is this possible?

or

Can we just let our bags go through magical express on the way in and not ride the bus? Will they take our luggage if we don't get on the bus or will it get stuck at the airport?

You are supposed to be on the bus for them to take your luggage but it is not on the same bus so in theory you need to at least book ME both ways. I have no idea if they check later ...

You do not have to book both ways. So if you get a ride to WDW you can still get a DME ride back to the airport.

Here is the big long "sticky" thread about not actually taking the bus from the airport BUT letting them take your bags. It has worked in the past. Questions that come up are "is this going to change with magic bands" (because they can track US so well now) and "what if the bags don't show up...is it because we didn't get on the bus and they knew it, or because our bags were misplaced by the airlines?"
