I currently have transfers to the Animal Kingdom Lodge from the airport booked through Virgin. Is it worth booking the magical express instead? are there any pros and cons or are they essentially the same?

Thanks

Not sure if it is still the case but you used to be able to get a refund of the transfer charge from VH if you used ME instead.

I like using ME as it is very efficient and it makes you feel like you arrived in Disney world when you get on the bus:)

My only experience of this was a few years ago now but we did quite a few pick ups on I Drive which went on a bit.Personally i would choose ME just to stay in the Disney bubble for that little longer:goodvibes

ME is usually quicker than the tour operator transfers. I'd always go with them.

tbh there isn't much in it normally. It also depends on the time of the year you go. We normally go in November (although haven't been with VH for a while now as always do DIY) but we have always been the second drop off on the VH drop off and also on DME. Personally I'd use DME as they always use the big coaches and there is more room. VH tend to use the mini buses and try and cram a lot of people in them with all their luggage!

When we used the virgin transfers we had just missed the bus and so they gave us a taxi instead :)

I did find ME much more pleasant and convenient though. I would definitely do that if possible.

ME purely so you can start to feel the magic that little bit earlier! :)

Like others, I don't think theres too much in it. A few times weve used the Virgin transfers and its been a DME anyway.

I know someone said Virgin may give you a refund if you cancel their transfer. Bear in mind they may also charge you extra-in the t&c it usually states there is a charge, if you do not use one of their services.

Do you think youll be taking your own luggage onto the monorail or getting DME to get it for you?

The reason I ask- is that we can not manage our own luggage, so it comes out at the different terminal where the Virgin reps & transfers are.
As we had DME, we had to collect our luggage and then walk back to the other side of the airport for DME.
I just think the Virgin transfers may be more convenient, if you cant hold onto your cases after the 1st luggage belt.

Coming back to the airport, it doesn't matter as youre dropped off at the same place. :goodvibes
