Just 3 weeks before our trip, but we haven't received our tags yet. Is that typical? When do they usually arrive?

I'm with you! I'm leaving in 14days and since no tags!!!! I called Disney 1week and a half ago and they said it was on their way....**waiting**

Heck, I leave Thursday Night, and still nothing! :confused3

I will have a copy of my online ressie proving to them that I did make the ressie! So how long of a walk is it from the Airport to the Poly? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We got ours last week (dec. 14) and don't leave till Jan 23. Why so different in timing, we are staying at a DVC on our points though.

DME vouchers are sent out as soon as you pay for your MYW package in full, or in the event of a room only or DVC ressi; about 40 days prior to travel. They come via DHL.

Not to worry though, you don't need the tags in order to board the DME bus. They will still let you on if you have your Disney reservation number. :)

I find there's often no rhyme or reason to the timing of these tags!

I have Clients travelling to Diz on Dec 24th and their tags came about 3 weeks ago but their tickets/vouchers came yesterday which was a 'bit' close for my liking though they would have faxed duplicates through if it came to that! On the other hand, I went to WDW last August and mine never came! Sooooo...go figure!

But indeed there will not be a problem boarding the ME Coach if they don't arrive!

DME vouchers and tags get mailed to your TA if you booked through one.

I got mine last week and I don't leave until Jan 22nd. Strange to say the least :confused3

I went to WDW on December 2nd and never received my luggage tags. I checked in at the Magical Express counter and they said the tags weren't necessary. They asked for my luggage claim tags stapled to my boarding pass and showed me a chart of luggage types. I picked the type, stated the colour and they successfully delivered my luggage to me.

Now having said that, it was 7:00 p.m. when I arrived at the airport and my luggage didn't arrive in my room until 3:30 a.m. They said it had nothing to do with the luggage tags. Apparently they were busy that day handling 14,000 pieces of WDW luggage and didn't have enough infrastructure (staff, vans, etc.) to deal with it. This was December 2nd and non-peak season. Next time I arrive in the evening, I'll just pick up my own luggage and bring it with me to the Magical Express bus. Every bus has their luggage storage doors open so you can put stuff in there.

After the inconvenient luggage issue, the rest of the trip had a lot of magic.

Hmm, so doing the luggage ourselves is an option; good to know.

How long does it usually take from the time you arrive at the airport until you're at your resort? (Trying to make sure my dinner reservations aren't cutting it too close.)

When I did the early check in at the Poly over the phone yesterday, the CM said to give it about 1 1/2 hours to arrive at the resort.

I personally, will be bringing our luggage to the bus, whether I receive the tags or not!

It varies a lot. The bus ride itself takes about 30 minutes. However, it can stop at up to 4 hotels. Our bus only had passengers going to one hotel (Caribbean Beach Resort), which our driver said was the first time it had happened to him.

Give yourself about 20 minutes to de-plane and take the tram to the main terminal, orientate yourself on level 3 and find the Magical Express counter on level 1. It's 5-10 minutes to check in for your bus ride and get in line. There are at least a dozen lines, each going to different Disney resort hotels.

Once you're in line, there's usually a short wait to board the bus and then a short wait before the bus leaves the airport.

The above activities might add up to about an hour before arriving at your hotel.

Once you're at your hotel, you'll probably check in at the registration desk to get your room keys and activate any park passes and dining plan. Then you may or may not go to your room to freshen up. Then after that, you're ready to go to your ADR location. :goodvibes

On the day I went to WDW 2.5 weeks ago, I landed in Orlando at 7:00 p.m. and arrived at my restaurant of choice in Downtown Disney via a Disney bus shortly after 9:00 p.m. My Magical Express bus was a charter to my hotel or it would've taken slightly longer.

I'm a newbie at this so don't mind my possibly stupid question, please  I booked through itravel2000...does that mean my stuff is getting sent to the agent I spoke with? Also, I received an itinerary from itravel but nothing from Disney yet, so how would I find out my reservation number with Disney?

Don't forget to allow for time in the resort check in line if you need to get tickets as part of a resort package to enter a park where the restaurant is. I have seen what looked like over a half hour wait although fortunately I have not been caught in such a long line yet.

When I spoke to the CM this morning when we paid off our trip  I asked when we should see the luggage tags ect. She said in about 2 weeks and if we have not to give them a call. Specially since we are in Canada. Last year when we went our ME vouchers came by Fed-ex. Is that unusual?

We'll be there Jan 25 and got our tags last week. We would've received them even sooner but had to have them re-sent as there was an error on our file and all our stuff got sent to my sister in BC! Then when my dh called to make sure the correction worked, they sent another set...both arrived within a couple of days of the call, by...UPS, I think?

I still don't have ours. Last time we didn't recieve ours until the morning we left.
