Hello all,

Looking for a little help here. We will be using the Magical Express luggage service for the first time later this week. Flying into MCO from BUF on Southwest and heard mix things about the service with people losing their luggage after it has arrived in MCO. Something must have happened between MCO luggage and Disney to the Hotel.

What has been your experience? Should I be concerned and just avoid it all together?

Not a concern to me at all. Although I usually find it's more likely the airline that loses the luggage not Disney. Disney is just the last stop so they have to deal with it

We've done it twice and never had a problem with lost luggage. However, it might be a while before your luggage makes it to your room, so pack what you'll need immediately in your carry-on.

We went the first week of December one year (value season) and we breezed through the non-existent line and got right on the bus and headed for the resort. No more than an hour from landing to resort! Awesome experience!

The next year we went about the 3rd week in December (due to school schedule) and the wait at the airport to board the DME was ridiculously long! Landing to resort was 3 hours!

We still plan to use DME this year when we go in December, but will know to expect a line. Still love it and think it's a great convenience.

Have used it 4 times, 4 different resorts, and never had an issue! Wait at the airport to get on the bus varies--sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. But never ridiculous amount of time. I LOVE the idea of checking my bags at my home airport and not seeing them again until they're in my room at the resort. And the same on the way home. Check them at the resort and don't see them again until at the baggage carousel at home. As someone mentioned, just pack anything you need right away in your carry-on. Easy-peasy!

The Magical Express luggage service is super easy-
we used it ONCE.
And only once.

This is because it took over 3 hours to get our luggage!!! We didn't realize that, at the time- and it was so annoying for us to have to wait so long. We are the type that like to get to the hotel, unpack, have what we need with us. We don't want to have to pack an extra bag and have to remember to pack separately things we may need in the several hours after landing. It's hard enough as it is to pack for just the Disney trip, I don't need ANOTHER suitcase to think about.

That being said, we always go get our luggage in MCO, and then bring it to the Magical Express. Sure, it takes a little extra time- maybe 15-20 minutes MAX. But that's way better than 3+ hours!!

We liked it, although my favorite part I think was the resort airline check-in. Which is checking your bags right at your resort and not seeing them again until you go to baggage at your home airport!
We had read before we left that our luggage would likely not be in our room for hours afterwards so we packed everything we would need until bedtime (flight touched down 1:30pm) in our carry on bags.
The wait for us for Magical Express was long for us. We didn't get to our resort until almost 4pm, it just surprised me, glad we didn't plan on doing a park on arrival day! That was during value February season. We will do it next time no matter what, we will have all 4 kids with us and not dealing with luggage in the middle of a big airport is worth it to us

To me the luggage service is the best part of Magical Express. I would never go get my luggage and haul it to the bus unless I had no choice. I've used DME more times than I can remember and have had no problems at all with luggage delivery.

I'm curious too as to how someone would know DME misplaced their luggage and not the airline. If you trust the airline to load it and get it to MCO then you should trust DME to grab it and put it on a bus. Just my thoughts.
