We are arriving after 10 pm but plan to have everything packed that we will need, for the next day, in our carry-ons. Since we are arriving so late, we were hoping to save time by heading straight to Magical Express without claiming our luggage. Will our bags (with Magical Express tags attached) be pulled and delivered the next or will they be sent to unclaimed baggage?

Thanks!

The website states; "If you arrive at Orlando International Airport after 10:00 PM, you must collect your luggage at Baggage Claim and bring it with you on the Disney’s Magical Express motorcoach." When we have flights that get in after 7pm I typically use a car service. For our trip a couple weeks ago it was about $70 one way from MCO to our resort... they typically meet you in baggage claim, and assist you with your bags.

It will get sent to unclaimed baggage so I don't recommend doing that. The Disney baggage staff leave for the day at 10, so no one will claim the bags. I'd just take the 30 minute delay and grab your own bags. It still won't cost you any money like a car service would, and you'll have to wait for your baggage either way.

I wouldn't - there will be nobody behind the scenes to collect the tagged bags so it will go to the baggage carousel and spin around for however long it takes for the airline baggage reps to notice. They will bring it into the unclaimed bags office and store it and who knows if the DME bag tags would prompt them to alert DME the next day or not. Definitely not a risk I would take.

Unfortunately you’ll need to grab your own bags coming in that late. We landed once after midnight and by the time we used the washroom and made it to baggage claim, we only waited a couple of minutes before our luggage came out. And actually, since that trip we’ve always grabbed our own bags. I prefer having my bags right away.

If you land after 10:00 you must get your bags. They won't even send you yellow tags (or haven't for us)

We arrived at about 11:30pm late December and I saw a few bags with yellow tags circling baggage claim. You definitely have to claim them yourself.

We just checked into an airport hotel, crashed, ate the complimentary breakfast, then grabbed a Lyft to BCV. Cost $26 total with the tip. We'll definitely do that again if we come in late.

Those are typically bags from flights that were supposed to arrive prior to 10:00 but flights got delayed for whatever reason. That's how MY bag with a yellow tag ended up there, and I went to get it myself

You really need to get your own bags when arriving g that late. If Disney did get them they might wake you up at 3:00 am with a knock on your door saying "here are your bags". or they could be lost, stolen.....

10-15 minutes is not worth the risk/potential hassle. We always take the time to get our bags ourselves, even if we arrive in time. So much nicer to hav everything, IMO.

To be clear, Disney, as in the ME bags service, will NOT get them at that hour. Period. They stop working at 10:00.

You NEED to go get your luggage.
They stop picking up luggage at 10pm.
If you don't want to pick up luggage then only pack carry on luggage or change your flight to an earlier one.

They sent yellow tags to me and our flight lands at 11:10pm. We are only doing carry on, so I didn't even think about it being weird. I guess it is!

Yes, sorry. Reading my post back, I realize that it was worded poorly. I didn't mean to imply that Disney would get the bags. Just that late pick ups, when they DO occur, are often undesirable.

Thanks for clarifying!

We landed a couple of weeks ago a little after 1 am and had the same experience. It was pretty quick. Took longer to walk from baggage claim to DME than we waited for our bags.

EDIT: also given that we didn't get to our room until about 2:30 am, I was glad to have my bags with me. Allowed us to sleep into 9 am and not have to worry about having everything at hand.
