Magical Express is going away on Jan. 1, 2022

I feel bad for all that use ME. I drive so it doesn't effect me, but the more they take away is just adding to reasons to stop feeding greedy Disney my hard earned money. I have an add-on CCV in ROFR right now and just the fact that I will be fighting for a studio even at the 11 month mark sux. But I knew that going in so it's all on me.

If you think this doesn't affect you because you drive, with all due respect, maybe you haven't thought all the way through the problem. See my post above. :(

I hear ya. I was more thinking on the es lines of effecting me as far as airport and luggage worries. But , yes this could open up another can of worms with parking.

For the change of EMH to early entry, I see it as a *stronger* incentive to avoid an offsite location. In the EMH model, an offsite guest could (usually) avoid the EMH park(s) each day. In many cases that led to easier touring days than an EMH day as an onsite guest. In the early entry model, it will be impossible to rope-drop any park any day as an offsite guest.
Spot on.
This is going to be the best perk ever for touring the parks for an onsite guest.
30 minutes aren't much, but they allow to ride two headliners before the offsite guests can enter the parks. After the two headliner are done, you're ahead of the curve and you can go to the 2nd tier attractions with no queue and so on.
I never use EMH, so for me it's really good news.

I am instead sorry for the loss of DME. Arriving at the airport and feeling already on vacation is great. As an international guest I couldn't use the luggage service anyway, but the vacation used to start just after passing the border checks.
On the other hand, I take DME at odd hours, so sometimes I have to wait a lot. With an Uber or Lyft I'd be on my way immediately.

I own 215 points and I take DME only one way because on the return leg I pay for an Uber from Universal. If one way from the airport to the resort I would pay $35, if our dues decrease by more than $0.16 then I'll come ahead. Less and I'd pay more.
But I'm ready to bet that transportation costs will remain the same in the budgets.

For those of us that drive, parking just became even MORE of a nightmare at the resorts, as if it becoming more of a nightmare was even possible at most of them.
That was my thought as well...there aren't nearly enough parking spots at the resorts for everyone that will now be renting vehicles to get to and from the airport. :(

Not that this will make a difference to Disney, I just sent off an email to Disney voicing my concerns and dissatisfactions. If anyone else would like to do this, this is what I used.

https:// disneyworld .disney. go.com /help/email/ (Note: I put spaces in the address because it was looping).

If you have a better address please reply.

Man, it’s crazy to see how many people overreact to this with limited info. So many comments about people threatening to sell their DVC contract because of this, yet we don’t have all the details. No one knows specifics on what the train service will offer, or what else Disney will provide as an alternative to ME. What if Disney provides the train at no cost for those checking in to WDW resorts? In my opinion, I would much rather take one of these trains than the ME. Typically, these sorts of trains run on a much tighter schedule than do buses. And they are much faster in terms of actual travel time. I have read nightmare stories about the ME on the site alone.

Would people really have an issue if, for example, the train departed from the airport to Disney Springs every 10–15 minutes? And got you to Disney Springs in over half the time it would take by bus? And there are buses at Disney Springs that go to each resort. Again, this is all speculation with very limited information, but this could very well turn out to be a much easier way to get to WDW from the airport.

At the end of the day, Disney knows the value of providing free transportation to the resort for all it’s guests. Disney knows that doing so keeps guests on property, which results in those guests not leaving the property to spend money elsewhere. Take a deep breath until more info comes out down the road. Just my opinion.

Parking is already a major headache at most of the resorts now anyway. Most don't realize because so many people now depend on DME and never have a car. An inordinate amount of these people are now going to be renting cars in lieu of paying exorbitant fees to get to and from the airport with the added "luxury" of now having their own wheels while they are on property. It is going to create a whole new magnitude of problems just like we had before DME came along. At the parks also, BTW. And the traffic will increase exponentially. I'd bet money on it. Think about it.

I'll believe that train when I see it roll into a terminal. What you say makes a lot of sense, and yes, I had thought of that. All of it, but it's just a pipe dream until tracks are laid and trains are moving people on them.

Phone call made, I hope others here on Disboards will make phone calls into Disney to express their displeasure! I might make a few more!

Also, please don't take it out on the CM's this isn't their fault.
Like your approach. I contact DVC via their email address on the DVC website along with an email to Yvonne that I had from previous correspondence. Hopefully if they hear enough feedback that they change their mind on this.

I don't want to take a plane and then a train and then a bus. And any time waiting for a bus at Disney Springs will offset the direct bus time. There is no chance you won't have at least a 10 min wait for a bus.

There's a good likelihood that exactly what you have always experienced at the airport with DME is going to be happening at an all new place at DS.

Here is what I emailed to DVC after my phone call to the regular Disney Member Services.

"I am extremely disappointed in the recent announcement of the cancellation of the Magical Express from MCO to the Disney Resorts. As a family of 5 that flies into visit Walt Disney World and will now have to either take a cab or rent a large car to make it to Walt Disney World, instead of just hooping on the Magical Express, we might have to completely rethink our Ownership in the DVC System. We bought into DVC because of our love of going to Disney and how easy a Family Vacation it was for us to go on. One of the nicest things that Disney provides to it's guests is the ease of getting from the Airport to Disney, my children get so excited hopping on the bus to finish our trip to get to Disney. To now have to setup a car rental or find a large enough cab to take my family of 5, back and fourth to Disney is going to put a huge stressful extra leg at the end of a long flight to have to deal with. On the return trip, instead of thinking about "Our Next Trip" we will have to be worried about dealing with getting a cab or returning the rental car and lugging baggage through the airport. I just don't understand the reasoning behind taking away this great one of a kind service that Disney provides to its guests and DVC owners!"

Hello train stop, goodbye ME...it's not a coincidence.

Except then why are they eliminating ME likely months or even over a year before the Train goes live? In addition what are they going to do with everyone at Disney Springs?

If it were connected I would see it more so "when the train launches ME will be ended" which is not the case.
