I am taking ME BACK to airport at the end our trip in Oct. Our flight leaves at 5:25pm. What time would ME be picking us up?

Any pitfalls I need to know about when taking ME only one way?

TIA!

Your assigned time will be something like 2 hrs 45 mins or 3 hrs before your flight departure. I haven't heard of any "pitfalls" resulting from taking DME only one way. Before your trip, just call them and double-checked that you're good and reserved.

You'll probably be picked up in the vicinity of 5:20-5:30.

The day before, you'll want to confirm that your reservation is set. Just dial 0 from your room phone, and ask to be connected to DME. If for some reason they don't have you in, they can book you when you call. Just make sure to have flight # and time handy.

:rotfl: They don't sound very reliable if they are going to pick me up 5 minutes before my flight is set to take off! :rotfl2:
Sorry. I couldn't help myself! I do want you to tell me what time they will pick me up, so don't be mad at me for the chuckle!

Our flight leaves at 5:25pm. ;)

They will leave information on your resort door one day prior to leaving.
They schedule your departure 3 hours before your flight leaves. If it leaves at 7:00 am, then you need to be ready to leave at 4:00 am.

LOL, Obviously, a typo, be ready for 2:30pm. Depending on which resort, it will be from 2:30 to 3:00pm.

We are planning to use ME in August. What if you don't want to be picked up three hours before your flight?? :confused3 Can you request a later pickup?? That's what I like about Tiffany . . . they come when YOU want!! I like to squeeze every minute out of WDW when I am there. Our flight leaves MCO at 7:55 PM.

LOL, is it that obvious that I haven't had a day off in nearly 3 weeks? LOL

I meant to say 2:20-2:30. :)

WHEW! I am glad you have a sense of humor! Now and again people don't get me. I will be ready then!! Thanks sooo much!

>>> I want to squeeze every minute...

You can request an earlier pickup for the trip back to the airport and home but do not request a later pickup (from the pickup time that they suggest).

Some slop is built into the schedule for unforeseen problems. You don't want to miss your flight if not everything goes perfectly right.

Another reason not to catch a later bus is that you may not be the last stop on the route before leaving for the airport. If you are the first it may take about an hour to get to the airport. That's a big reason for the 2hr 45 min requirement.

DME is a shared ride service. Equipment is dispatched by Mears based on departure info from Disney. The departure times given to you are designed to get you to the airport aprox. two hours prior to your flight (as recommended by the airport) If you elect not to depart as scheduled, the result is half full coaches on some routes, or overloads on others, requiring additional equipment that may not be readily available. If delayed, this results in many ticked off people. Why, because a some guests decided to "adjust" their pickup time on their own by showing up when they want to.

Please adhere to your departure time. The time given you IS the departure time. Please be ready 10 to 15 mins before your scheduled departure time. An airline doesn't allow late boarding, this should really be no different. Airlines have a schedule to keep, so do we, and you expect us to do it. We need you to do your part.

Please be ready when scheduled.

If you wish to make your own schedule for departure, you might want to consider a exclusive transport service for your party.

Thanks for the info, and don't take this the wrong way, but I never said I would expect anyone to "adjust" to my schedule or that I would be "showing up when I wanted to". I was simply asking if it was possible to REQUEST a pick up time!! That's all. I would also expect that if someone, meaning ANYONE, didn't show up for their scheduled pick up time that ME would leave without them . . . and rightly so!

I'm guessing that SOMEONE made you wait??? :confused3

I also said our family has used Tiffany Towncar in the past and we have been pleased with their service. I used Mears once, never again!!! :sad2:

I believe TIffany also picks you up 2 1/2 hours before departure. Am I wrong about that?

Most services pick up anywhere from 2 1/2 -3 hours before the flight. I know all the town car services we used did. I am the OP and I asked the question because I was worried that ME would pick us up even earlier than that due to making many stops. I feared they would want to pick up 4-5 hours in advance and that would be too early for us, as I DO NOT want to entertain a 2 year old in the airport for that long.

3 hours is just right!

I'm not in a debate with Towncar services. If DME is to work as planned, the guests choosing this service must be on time, ready to go. That's it! It is really simple. That's the only message I'm trying to convey. When a run is made, the pick up times told to you are your departure times, not your show up time, best thing is you the guest can do is be 15 min early!
