Hi, folks. Is Magical Express available for morning flights? We will be leaving All Star Sports to go straight to the airport, maybe for an 8:40 a.m. flight. IS ME a 24 hour service? Thanks!

Yes it is.

Please arrive in front of your hotel at the exact time you'll receive in the latter the day before you leave, and don't panic if no bus is showing, it might arrive late (especially during the off-peak hours).

Yes - it runs 24 hours service

We had a 6:40 am flight and it wasn’t an issue. The people taking the checked luggage weren’t there yet though so that sucked

Why would you expect them there about 3:30 AM? Not their hours of operation, nor would I expect it to be.

I always use a car service or a resort shuttle and pay the extra. Have more faith in them for some especially for an early am flight. Mears is good and dont haveto stop at multiple resorts

U pay for ME top dollars and it's " included" in your experience but town car way better and faster but u miss out on Disney propaganda video. Toss up ME works if u got kids, first timers

I don't think it's such a crazy expectation when you're dealing with a 24 hour service like ME. I understand that they don't, but I would ask that same question.

The thing is that ME and RAC check are actually not the same service and not connected. You can use one and not the other (and, depending on your airline/destination may have to). ME is a 24 hour service. RAC is not.

You do realize that DME is actually operated by Mears - right?
We had a 3:15 a.m. departure once and surprisingly we weren’t the only ones waiting for the DME bus that morning. No bell services or RAC. Also be aware DME gets you to the airport with lots of time to spare, for us it was so early the airline ticket counter had not yet opened so we had to wait in line for it to open.

Where did I say that I expected them to be there? Just saying how it sucked that since the flight was early they weren’t there.

Are you sure car service is faster enough to justify paying additional money? And what "propoganda" is shown on the return trip? :confused3

Remote Airline Check In is similar to curbside check in, except the curb is about 20 miles from the airport. Curbside check in wouldn't be open at 3:30 AM, so it makes sense thwt RAC isn't, either.

Yes, I understand this, but I spend a lot of my free time studying all things Disney....not everyone does. If I'm a newbie, I would definitely ask that question. All I am saying is it was a good observation that Jacq7414 offered and she was chided for it.

By the way, welcome to the disboards, Jacq7414! :welcome:

The last few trips we used Lyft instead of DME. I prefer the flexibility to call when we are ready and get there in half the time. We don't make any extra stops at different resorts or have to wait on others to arrive. For us, the convenience is well worth $20. One driver last year even played Disney song trivia the whole way!

OP: For an 8:40 am flight, your pickup time will likely be about 5:40 or a bit earlier. I have a 7 am flight home on my upcoming trip, but since it will be a solo trip to the airport, I will likely use Lyft. I figure the earliest I will leave for MCO is 5:15-5:30 am.
