Please bare with my confusing long question.

I am flying into MCO and taking Magical express and staying one night at SSR. Next night I will meet family at MCO Hyatt and leaving for DCL cruise the next day. Upon return we will, take DCL transportation to Bay Lake and the Magical Express to MCO at end of week.

Can I take Magical Express back to airport after my one night at SSR to meet my family for our DCL cruise or do I have to get a cab from SSR?

Sorry for the long question but I am solo for the SSR overnight and I just want to have all my ducks in a row.

Thank you 😊

Each reservation entitles you to a trip from and to MCO for each person on the reservation. So since your one night at SSR is single and seperate reservation you can schedule a trip back to MCO. The only caveat is you might have to pick a random flight that puts you on the bus when you would want to, but if you call DME directly they can handle it for you.

You then can do the DCL back to BLT and DME to MCO at the end of the stay.

I did this once and when I mentioned it to the CM who had to adjust something, she said that they really don’t allow people to do that...take to MCO to catch a bus for the cruise, since you can pay to be taken there.

We still had no problem doing it but I might not mention that to the CM, just to avoid having to explain.

I think OP said they’re taking DME to MCO to spend the night at the Hyatt. In any case, they’re allowed RT transportation between MCO and their WDW resort, right?

The conversation the CM had with me was that the purpose was to get people back to MCO to catch a flight. I was giving her a fake flight and so will the OP in order to be scheduled for DME. if you don’t have a return flight booked, or give them something, they won’t sign you up.

At least that has been my experience. You can’t just call DME and ask to be taken to MCO without providing flight info.

Per multiple posts on the the Transportation board, if you call DME directly and tell them what time you want to be at MCO, they’ll schedule your bus. Many guests use DME from and to WDW resorts without getting on or off a flight. I know that DVC is a different case because we don’t pay for DME in our hotel room rates (although it’s probably covered in our dues). But I do know that it’s not unusual for guests to use DME just as OP wants to do. Basically, if you’re staying at a WDW resort, you’re entitled to round trip transportation between MCO and that resort during your reservation period.

Wow. Definitely not what the CM at the resort told me. It’s good to know for future reference.

Yep! One thing I’ve learned from the Transportation board is to call DME directly if you need to do anything different from the routine. The reservation CMs and resort CMs only know the routine. And while it’s true that the purpose of DME is to provide transportation for people flying via MCO, it’s more flexible than that.
