Hi, I just wanted to find out ( two years later ) if when taking Magical Express back to the airport, if they still make Canadian flight travellers leave 4 hours prior to flight departure time? We have a 12:35 flight and wondered if they'll still make us leave at 8:30am.

Hi
We used the Magical Express when we came back on January 9th and our flight was about 2:55pm and we were picked up about 11ish. We had plenty of time even though they did make a couple of other stops before heading to the airport. We tend to allow lots of time even when we didn't use ME since I would prefer to wander around in the airport instead of any surprises. This was the first year we used the service and we found it to be very stress free.

The time is about 4 hours prior. However, it is the same whether you fly back to Canada or back to somewhere in the US!

Domestic flight pick up time is still approximately 3hrs prior to flight. International (Canada) flight pick up time is still approximately 4hrs prior to flight. You can call DME and request an earlier or later pick up.

This is not always true. My last trip, we were flying back on US carriers with a plane change in the US. We were picked up 3 hours prior.

OMG...so, for my 7:00 am flight, the (confirmed) DME will p/u at 3:00???:scared1:
SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!!!!!

You can get 3 hr pick up but you might want to go for the 4 hr - remember that given your final destination is international that you cannot use the baggage check feature of ME - So your bags have to accompany you on the bus and you have to manually check them in at the check in counter of the airline. Thus extra line and time to wait.

ps - The Air Canada checkin folks in Orlando are the worst I've ever experienced !! Slow beyond belief

:worried: Hohboy Thanks, Nicolesdad.

The 3 hours is for domestic, 4 hours is International (this includes Canada, Puerto Rico and the rest of the world).

While DME used to allow you to call and request a later pick up, they have been very hesitant to do so in recent months. Basically, they will NOT be held responsible if you miss a flight due to insufficient timing. This is due to the fact there are normally other hotel pick ups before heading to the airport. Not to mention, Air Canada (and WestJet on occasion) are known for being VERY slow in Orlando. Let's not even get into the security screening lines... :scared1:

For those with early AM flights, the food concessions are normally open - so you can at least get something to eat when you arrive at MCO.

We were just there in January and ME would NOT allow us to change our pick up time. They were adamant that it was 4 hours! I considered just going to the main building for pickup an hour later cause there is always a me bus around and always space ...in fact a family of 6 got on our bus even though they weren't scheduled until the next half hour!!
I am planning on giving me a different flight time for our return that it is actually. Our return flight is at 845 am....(it was originally for 1045am) and so they want to pick us up at 530am...I am giving them a flight # that leaves an hour later so we can get another hour sleep. It will be a long enough day without getting the kids up at 5!
yeah.

That family of 6 might have gotten on the bus but that doesn't mean they made their flight. I would never allow just 2 hours (as is your plan if I understand correctly) to travel from WDW to MCO and catch a flight. Yes, you may make it but I have been at MCO during security crackdowns when just getting through security took well over an hour. Go early, enjoy the shops and know that you are making your flight.
