I called today to reserve our Magical Express Transfers through Member Services.

I was the first person that Nancy (CM) had booked for the FREE transfers. It took her awhile to read through everything and she had to call me back when she had completed my reservation.

The service is completely FREE for the first 18 months! Even the gratuity is included. It will be handled a lot like the cruise transfers. Should be VERY nice!

21 days prior to your arrival Disney will send you a booklet with your luggage tags. They take ALL of your flight information down and the names of everyone using the service (plus ages of kids). Once you check in your luggage at your home airport you will not see it again until it is delivered to your room! When leaving to go back home the resort will have an airline rep. that will check you and your luggage in, give you your boarding passes and you will see your luggage at home in baggage claim. You can check in as early as 12 hours before your flight and as late as 3 hours before your flight. The transportation will pick you up to take you to the airport 2-almost 3 hours before your flight departure.

I am excited to try it out! :cheer2:

It sounds like an interesting idea, but we usually have a rental car, so not so important for us.

I would have loved this in previous vacations. Now we flly into Sanford as it is cheaper for us and also we have a rental car.

So does that mean one can book the magical express service without a package? I am going in October solo, so I am not getting a rental car and this would be great! Who do we call and when should we book by?

We are excited about using this service. I haven't called to set it up yet, because I don't have my airline reservations yet. I think this is a great way to get to and from the airport. We rarely rent a car, and if we do rent, we usually get it at the Dolphin for a day or two. No need to spend the money on a car that sits in the parking lot. Thanks for the info. I always wondered how to set this up through DVC.

Maybe we will use ME for our member cruise in September.

We also normally rent a car, but i was struggling with renting a car when we arrive and driving it to the port to return it or pay to park for 4 days and then using it to return to WDW for a couple days before returning it to MCO.

We would pay for 1 week car rental and 4 days port parking.

I'll have to do the math to see if paying for the cruise transfers and using ME is cheaper.

I usually rent but maybe we'll try it if it's still free next August for our girls-only trip!

Call Member Services just as though you were booking one of our 7 DVC choices.

I would call 6-8 weeks before your flight. This way you can wait for any flight itinerary changes. Book the ME transfers. They send the booklet and luggage tags out 21 days before departure.

I would use ME and then call a towncar for the transfers to the Port. Disney transfers are expensive and on a big bus. The towncar would be the same if not less in cost and just your family.

Thanks so much for posting this info!
I am looking forward to trying this out for my Nov trip!
Thanks again!

We went on a 3 day a couple of years ago after visiting the parks for 6. Before we left I begin thinking the same as you...why am I going to pay for a rental car when Im on the boat. After a little searching around, I found that Avis had an office in a hotel, Ramada I think, about 1 mile from the port.

I dropped DW and DD off at port with luggage and then I went ans turned in car. Avis provided free shuttle back to port...in all took about 45 min to complete transfer. When we got back from the cruise we had limo service take us to airport in Orlando.

I also think some of the other companies do the same thing in other hotels around the port. Avis just happened to be the least expensive rental when we went.

While it may seem like a lot of moving pieces it really turned out great for us.

hope this helps

I always rent a car but look forward to giving this a try. If after the 1st few days we aren't happy with the transportation I can always go online and bid for something on Priceline for the remainder of the trip.
