Magical Express and Luggage

We are going to WDW in September and I wanted to get some opinions on whether or not I should let ME deliver my luggage to the resort or pick it up myself. We are traveling with my father and our 2 1/2 yr. old twin daughters. I have read on other posts that it can take up to six to eight hours to recieve your luggage. Thanks for any advice!

As is the case with just about any answer on these boards, it all depends. In some instances (such as arriving during peak season at the peak arrival time on the peak day of the week), it can take up to 6-8 hours to get your luggage. But I would think that that is somewhat an abnormality. They have been doing this for a couple of years now and have the routine down pretty good. Considering your travel party, I think you wouldn't mind the added time if it meant not having to shlep your own bags!!!

As has also been suggested here and by Disney themselves, pack what you need immediately into your carry-on. If it is too much, or you don't want to run the risk, check one suitcase without the ME tag and pack what you think you will need right away in that. Then grab that bag from baggage claim and let ME do the rest. This would be especially true if you are arriving late and need to get the little ones to bed right away.

I guess it depends on how much you need what's in your suitcases. Can you carry 1 day's worth of supplies in your carry-on's? If you can, it would be much easier to let ME deliver your luggage. I've traveled with 1 toddler, 2 would be so much more! If ME delivers your luggage, then you don't need to stand by the luggage carrosel to claim it (it's claimed back-stage). You just find the ME checkin person, hop on your bus and go to your resort.

As ither have stated it's just so nice to get off the plane and go right to the bus and not to have to worry about getting your bags.

I went in March during Spring Break madness and my luggage got to the resort before my room was ready. I've never had to wait more than 3 hours for luggage from the time I arrived at MCO.
