i just got our ME tags for our trip in august.. We are staying at POP for the first 2 days then switching over to BWV on rented points. My tages are only for goingt to POP. there is nothing in there for leaving and going back to MCO. Is this because the DVC will sent them seperatly or is it because im flying southwest and you cant check luggage in at the resort with southwest?.

Technically, you have two separate WDW resort reservations. There should be a separate, one-way Disney's Magical Express reservations associated with each reservation.

You already received the important mailing with the yellow tags for your inbound travel.

To be on the safe side, you can call Disney's Magical Express Guest Services at 866-599-0951 to make sure that both reservations are correct.

The fact that you're on Southwest only means you can't use Resort Airline Check-in at this time. So your luggage will go on the motorcoach with you for the return trip.

Be aware that cast members there are not very knowledgable and quite rude.

I've called Disney's Magical Express Guest Services several times, and they've always been helpful and pleasant.

Please be aware that hamlet35_2000 doesn't like one of the limitations of Disney's Magical Express, as discussed in another current thread.

Neither. It's because NOBODY gets any return-to-the-airport Magical Express information until it's placed on/under their resort room door the day before they depart.

By the way, there is no such thing as DME luggage tags for going FROM your resort back to MCO. You won't receive them because they don't exist.

Please do your travel partner a favor and don't ruin the magic of his/her pilgrimage to WDW with your negativity towards all things Disney. You're expecting to have an annoying an inconvenient time, and self-fulfilling prophecies are a fact of life.

Totally agree......have had many conversations with ME guest services and have never had a problem. If you portray a good attitude with them you will get the same in return.

Everyone should feel very comfortable and confident in calling ME guest services if you have any concerns or questions.

I've done the stay at one resort and then transfer to DVC many times. DME will send you out 2 envelopes. One for your trip from the airport to your resort and the other from your DVC resort to the airport. There is no need for the yellow tags on the return (but they will be in there), but your voucher is in the second envelope for the bus driver (if you don't get the second one don't worry, DME gives you a confirmation letter about 24 hours before you return with the voucher number on it).

I am Hamlet's partner and I dont think you need to worry your pretty little head about that. And whats with this magic nonsese..Blah blah blah!!! WDW has higher standards to live up too (other than that other theme park Universal). We are planning on spending Quite alot of money and deserve to be treated like we matter NOT JUST when we arrive but also all throughout our stay and until we leave the ground. We deserve the WHOLE Magical disney experience.

PS-Should I pack light for my "Pilgrimage"?

Your Magical Express packet has more than just the luggage routing tags. It also contains instructions and the transportation vouchers.

When you go from MCO to POP, they'll scan the transportation vouchers from your first DME reservation.

When you return to MCO from BWV, you'll turn in the transportation vouchers from your second DME reservation. (And, yes, you won't use yellow tags when you return home.)

Thanks Honey!

I am doing the same thing, checking into ASM for two days and then renting points at BWV for the rest of the week. My understanding is that you have to call the normal ME number to make arrangements for your trip to the first non-DVC resort and then call member services to arrange ME for the trip back to the airport.

That's a good point.

Disney's Magical Express (DME) Guest Services at 866-599-0951 cannot initiate a new DME reservation for a DVC resort stay using DVC points (including rented points and Interval International exchanges) — only DVC Member Services can do so.

However DME Guest Services can confirm and modify existing DME reservations for DVC resort stays using DVC points.

For all other WDW resort stays, DME Guest Services can initiate, confirm, and modify DME reservations.

We have done the switch also, but the other way around....arrived at a DVC resort and then left from a non-DVC resort. You really do not have to worry about the departure. In truth, you really don't have to have previous reservations for the return trip. Yes, you should get in touch with DME a day or two before you plan to depart, but you can do it that way. In fact, my dh had to leave BCV without his voucher...I was a dummy and forgot to give it to him. He got on the bus with no problem. Then when I moved to POR for my last two days in WDW, I misplaced my return trip vouchers (yes, I can be an airhead at times), but the bell services people at POR were terrific and just made me up new ones for my poor embarrassed dd and myself. So, don't worry about not having something specific for your return to the airport. You most likely have the return vouchers.
You don't need any tags even though you are switching resorts. Not sure why they would send you two sets, one set for each resort. That makes no sense to me, but hey, mistakes happen. You should be getting an envelope, from DME, rather than a resort, with an information packet, yellow luggage tags. DVC doesn't send out the packets...I've booked through them before and once the reservation (for DME) is made it gets turned over to DME for printing and allocation...usually about a month or so before travel.

disneyobsessed -

you are right - I did received ours yesterday. They said two weeks before - this is five weeks..

I also see only tags dated 8/6 - one way to resort - should I call or will they be in our resort before leaving :confused3

Thanks.
