I have signed up for Magical Express as it's a part of our stay package, but I am still considering getting a rental car for a drive to Kennedy and assorted other errands (like a surprise trip to a Krispy Kreme when I drop DD16 off for surfing lessons at TL).

I am wondering if it's possible to let our luggage go through magical express and simply pick up my car upon arrival. Then we would do the same for departure, check in with our luggage at the resort, and just drive to the airport to drop off the rental. Feasable?

According the FAQs about Magical Express (someone posted it last week, I can't find it) that 'NO' you may not send your bags on ME, and not go on the bus.

If you won't need a car the entire time, why not take ME and then rent via Alamo/National either at the Dolphin or at the Car Care Center?

I would take Disney's FREE ride. As mentioned, get a car at the Dolphin or car care center. Book ahead with National or Alamo, it is less beause you don't pay the 9.8% airport tax. You can either drop it off back at the airport or where you picked it up. That is what we are doing for out next 2 trips.

Have a great trip.

Saw the same thing. According to Disney, they are not allowing a 'luggage transfer' service from the airport to the resorts. How they are going to enforce this remains to be seen. I would agree about getting a car for the actual time you need it.

If I use Express & am staying at Pop Century & wish to rent a car for one day how would I get to & from the Car Care Center or Dolpin?

Car rental companies will pick you up at your resort. And you have other choices in addition to the on-site Alamo/National car rental. For example, Hertz has a WDW-Kissimmee location. The office is off-site, but they'll pick you up and drop you off at WDW resorts.

I will have to see what Budget offers in the way of pick up and drop offs. I really like the idea of the Magical Express Service, but as a californian, I am genetically pre-disposed to immediate access to a vehicle at my whimsy.

Thanks, everyone!!!
