I'm not sure if anyone has confirmed this yet but I have good news for anyone who was wondering about Magical Express and will be travelling on Air Canada. I called this morning and Disney will be sending me tags for my luggage ASAP. The CSR took all of my flight information for both my departure and return trip. We can benefit from the entire Magical Express experience. I assume this makes Air Canada a participating airline. I'm not sure about other Canadian airlines. I am entering Orlando from Toronto.

:cool1: Hi there Cape Bretoner living in Halifax,it's Kirsten in the Valley here.I will also be entering Orlando from TO with Air Canada. Can you please tell me the telephone number so I can call and register us?I'll be staying at OKW,so guess they'll deliver the luggage there for us,and we go free on the shuttle? And,how does it work on the return, where do we get our luggage? Thanks so much for any help with this!

Abba, I don't have the reservation number off hand. I'm sure someone around here has it on their speed dial and can give it to you. :) It's just the main number you call to make reservations. Anyway, once you get that, give it a call. You will get a menu and should choose the option that says "modify reservation". Once you do that a CM will come on the line and you just have to tell them that you will be taking advantage of their Magical Express during your stay at Disney. They will ask for your flight numbers (both arrival and departure) so have those handy. As well, they will want to know the time you arrive in Orlando and the time you leave. After they confirm your information, they will send you special tags to put on your luggage. I assume you pick up your luggage in TO to go through customs and that will be the last time you see it until you get to your room at OKW. So, when you get to Orlando, someone from Disney will be waiting for you (but I don't think it's Mickey :) ) and you will get on the Magical Express bus at no cost. The return trip is a little different. You simply get on the bus with your luggage at the time they tell you. That's about all the info I have for now but I think that's all you need.

Hi,I found that number from a previous post that you had been involved with.Called it,but I can't do it through them (Disney Reservations) because I'm travelling on DVC points I got from a DVC member. :confused3
So,the lady said I can try DVC when they open on Monday, and she thinks that they can set me up with Magical Express.......So,I"ll call on Monday,or when I get a chance. It sounds like a great service.
Thanks so much for your help,
Kirsten in the sunny Valley :rolleyes1

Hippychickali,

Are you sure that you don't have to pick up your luggage at the baggage claim? When I booked the ME service, the CM asked for my flight info but she said since we're flying in from Canada (we're flying Westjet but she said it doesn't matter which airlines), Disney won't be transferring our luggage from the baggage claim to the bus. We'll have to pick up our luggage and take it to the ME bus ourselves.

All guests of a Disney hotel, and arriving at MCO, are eligible for Magical Express (regardless of the airline they use).

However, only customers of select airlines (American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Song, United Airlines and Ted) can check their bags at their Disney resort and receive their boarding pass for their return flight.

Everyone staying on-site and arriving at MCO can take advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle (both to WDW and return to MCO), plus all arriving guests can take advantage of Disney's automatic delivery of checked baggage.

The CM is wrong (she probably thought you had to clear US customs @ MCO, which would mean you have to physically walk your bags through US customs. Unless you have to clear US customs @ MCO (and I believe all Canadian flights pre-clear US customs in Canada) Disney will handle the transfer for you, as long as you have the special Disney baggage tag affixed to your bags.

Not all flights pre-clear.. I'm still grumbly about having to wait a looonngg time at MCO customs in February. YHZ-MCO direct.
:)

MikeyNS,

Westjet started flying direct from Toronto to MCO in Oct 2004. We cleared custom in Toronto when we flew down in Oct 2004. I believe all international flights flying in to MCO clear custom in the US now.

If the Canadian airport has pre-clearance facilities I believe it will normally make use of them in order to clear those travelers who are United States bound. As of now the only Canadian airports with the facilities are Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. The United States agreed to extend the Canada-U.S. pre-clearance program to Halifax International Airport in late 2004, so YHZ will soon have pre-clearance facilities in place. :)
