I hope someone can help us out. What I really would like is a website to check our Magical Express but I know it doesn't exist. Does anyone have any tips, advice to help us out?

Here's the situation. My family, 5 adults and 3 children are booked in on the same reservation but we are going we are going down on two separate flights.

  1. My SIL filled out an online form for a reservation for 2 Adults & 3 Kitds in July for her flight.
  2. I called in about 5 days later to make a payment and to book a reservation for 3 adults for my flight.
  3. My SIL got the confirmation and none of the information was correct. Her 5 was booked with my flight information and my reservation for 3 didn't make into the confirmation. She called and sorted it out. All this was in July.
  4. Two weeks ago the yellow tags came. The information was incorrect and people were missing tags. She called again to correct.
  5. Last week round 2 of the yellow tags came, still incorrect.
  6. My brother called on Saturday to sort things out yet again.
  7. Sunday my SIL called to confirm that the information was correct. (it was so far)
I'm afraid that round 3 of the yellow tags will be wrong again. Hopefully we can get this sorted out before we go down next month.

Help please!

Are you calling Wdw or DME? The booklet that accompanied the tags should have the DME number in it. If the correct tags never show up, simply go to the DME welcome center & give them your luggage receipts. They'll pull the bags from that info.

Thanks Pooch.

The first couple of times we called WDW. The last couple of times we called DME. I just find it frustrating that their reservation system doesn't provide all the booking information (tours, DME) that have been booked.

We are seeing more and more of this type thing when there are multiple groups booking for the same trip. There is no need to make different reservations based on different arrival flights. I'm not sure if that causes something to go whacky in the DME system! It seems to be easily whacked out! The only flight info that has to be spot on is your departure flight info. And that can actually be added once you arrive in WDW, at your resort.
What is in error on the luggage tags? Is it names, or resort? Or arrival info.

Both times that we got the yellow tags, two adults were completely missing from DME, 2 adults had incorrect flight information, 3 children were listed but was missing flight information, and only one adult had their information correct. The resort was correct.

Draw one line through incorrect information on the yellow tag except do not draw through the bar code.

Write in the correct information including resort and your name.

Flight information is not mandatory on the yellow tags.
Yellow tags are not used when going home; remove them when checking out.

The resort is correct. My biggest concern is the two adults that are completely missing from the DME reservation.

I think this is happening because two different peopled made reservations. It's not an excuse, just a possible reason. You don't need to worry about any flight info...it just doesn't matter. As long as all are listed on the reservation, and the resort is correct, it should all work out. So, what about the two missing adults? Call DME directly....ask them what they show in their system. If those adults are not in there, add them....again! You can use any of the yellow tags as long as the resort is correct, and the reservation number is correct.
Yes, I realize that you've already called DME...and no, you shouldn't have to keep calling them. But you don't want people arriving at the DME podium only to find they aren't listed in the system. So, call yet again....hopefully this will be straightened out.
DME caused an issue when we used them in May. I changed my resort from POP to POR...about a 45 days prior to arrival. The reservation number stayed the same, so I didn't do anything about the 'old' resort name showing...based on previous experience, and what I've been told to do. Well...we arrived at the podium only to find out that they still showed POP as our resort. They finally were able to see that we had moved to POR.....it took them about 15 mins to fix their records. My dd and I had driven over from Tampa, so we had our bags with us. However, my dd's best friend had flown in from Dallas...her bag had been checked. They told us no problem...the bag would go to POR. Guess I should have asked them 'when'. We arrived at MCO at 5:15, got to POR around 6:30, went to our room, unpacked a bit, then headed out to watch some fireworks. Returned to the room around 11....no bag for dd's friend. We waited a bit....then she called Luggage Assistance. This was at 11:45...we were tired and wanted to go to bed, but there was stuff in her bag that she needed. They told her that the bag hadn't arrived yet. But it would be soon. At 12:30, I called them....I wasn't as pleasant as I would have liked. They told me that the bag was on it's way to the resort..it had been sitting at POP..since 8pm!!!! It finally got to our room around 1:30!!!!

Two different people calling only happened in the beginning, after that it was just one person calling up with everyone's flight information. The last time my SIL called the next day to confirm all the information on the system so hopefully (knock on wood) we will receive correct tags and reservation info.

The current plan is to wait until the next set of tags arrive (hopefully tomorrow) before we call up again. Between the 3 mailings we should have enough luggage tags for the 8 of us. If it happens again, we're going to escalate it up the chain of command.

I thought I'd give an update. Right now I hate snail mail. Nothing yet. We called up DME today and they told us that it was sent Aug 25th so hopefully we will get the new paperwork by the end of the week. We also reconfirmed all the info (they read it to us off the system) and all is still correct.

 Success!! We got the paperwork and luggage tags today and all was correct!! One less thing to worry about!
