MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

We are also on the late seating (Mark, Lisa, dd (14), dd (10) and Grandma Sandy) - We prefer it although I know my mom would like it earlier

Hello!
We finally figured out how to make the signature.
Our Kids are David 13 Sophia 10.
Late sitting.
We are still in the process or designing our Fish hangers and Drop Items!!!!!
We might be using more Glue than sewing.
We'll see!
We are all set up with Palo and tour reservations.
We decided to do the Inflatable speed boat and snorkling in Grand Cayman, Adventure park In Cozumel, Rays in Castaway(1st stop)and Bottom sea Fishing Castaway(2nd Stop).

Really Looking forward Spending the 2 days at Castaway!!
It is our Second Double Dip Cruise!!!!!!!

We have late seating, too, although we are on the waitlist for main seating.

MJMOM -- we're doing the jeep tour in Cozumel. I think Carly and Emily have emailed once. Does Emily text? Carly's been "talking" with Shannon's daughter regularly for the last few weeks.

We are on early dining. The time we have to get up on our last day is decided for us, as we have to visit imigration at some rediculous time in the morning.

I think on our last cruise in 2006 it was 5:45am, we had eated breakfast, collected our bags, and driven back to Kissimmee, all by 8:30am

BTW Our kids still do not know about the cruise, everytime we have slipped up so far they were not listening.

We have main seating for dinner. We would prefer the late seating but because of meds I have to take we can not wait that long. Like Cindy we go to topsiders for breakfast on the last day. Gives us a little bit more sleep and we are able to come abck to the cabin to get everything before leaving.

Paul - I didn't realize you all were also surprising your children! Yay for surprises!!!!

Eleven weeks from today!

Denise -

I have an 18 yr ld daughter. We did a mexico/cabo cruise in August right before she left for college. It was nice to do an excusion just her and I. She is loving college and will enjoy getting together with other 18 yr olds since they are too old for the stack and can go to clubs and things. My daughter, Lexi, sometimes feels awkward at the clubs but our summer cruise made that easier - she couldn't go to kids clubs then either and we had a blast playing the games at the adult (after 10pm) club as a team.

I also have a son who is 16.

We live in rural Washington but I work about an 1 hour drive (from our home) to a much bigger city/town where both my kids did or do go to high school. I am an 8th grade teacher.

Lexi and I are doing Tulum at Cozumel without her father and brother. Looking forward to it.

I am so busy during the week that I can't even find the time to peek at the disboard until the weekend. Then its catch up time.

After a month of teaching this year I am still overwhelmed. Here's to hoping that October becomes easier:drinking1 I have been teaching for 13 years but this year I have no planning (I teach 6 out of 6 periods a day) and I still run student gov't AND I am coaching jr high badminton:scared1: Badminton finishes 10/30 and it will be so much easier. No more 12 hour days,5 days a week.

So excited about the cruise. Can't believe it will be here before I get a chance to even get prepared. My sister Nancy sent me all the new 2009 guides as a surprise in the mail this week. My sister's love the fact that I am their personal cruise director / travel agent. I don't know when I will get the time to read - ok, I'll just take the time.:rolleyes1

I have everyones flights / auto train reservations done, check. Hotel the night before, check. WDW reservations for 12/127 - 1/2, check. dining reservations for 18 at WDW, check. (added in-laws for WDW portion, check.) All excusion, not check. Need to do last room Sunday night. Whew!!!

Oh, gotta grade papers, go to the gym, DO LAUNDRY all by Sunday. uggh.

my oh my. will try to check min again this weekend. If not...next weekend it's a date.

Amy -

my kids are a year older than you have them on the first page.

Lexi is 18, Nick is 16 (as of this month!)

My sister, Ginny, has made lots of fish extenders. If you need advise or just her to design and make one for you. PM me. she is lost trying to get onto these boards. She lives in VA and I live in WA yet we connect via text messaging mush beter than computer.

She has but in an offer to help out. Its her first cruise and she feels everyone should do everything involved with the cuise if they can - so offer of help.

too many posts in a row... sorry

I have come up with a compromise for our family.

I checked into the Thanksgiving Week cruise (exact same intinerary) and cat 12 is available and would cost of $4000 less  then our current cat 10 rooms.

The airfare is also cheaper, so with the penalty to change it, would cost the same.

For $4000, we could take a seperate vacation during Christmas vacation.

Kind of seems like a no-brainer....

So Merrilyn, I guess this means you're cancelling? We'll miss you -- but I do understand the math! Our first cruise was going to be spring break 2005 but when the winter dates/prices came out, we were able to go from a Cat 6 to a Cat 4 and still save over $3,000. So we just delayed that year.

We did it in 2006 also, and they only realised when you pull up in the car, and you get asked for your names and asked if everyone is travelling.

They just thought we had travelled 60 miles to see the ship :confused3

Hi everybody!! Just woke up from a VERY busy night in labor and delivery. Unfortunately, by morning, all my patients had gone for cesarean sections. All teenagers AGAIN!!

We have early dining only because of DD4:cutie: who would never make until late dining. The majority of the nights, Rick, myself and Melissa :cutie: were the only ones to actually sit down and eat. The older two much preferred to eat at Pluto's, Goofy's and/or Pinnochio's all while being in and out of the pool constantly. I didn't push it, though, because this was there one and only time to roam on their own (I still made them check in with me EVERY hour:rolleyes: ).

I am so sorry to hear that you won't be going with us, Merrilyn.:sad1: Morgan has really enjoyed chatting with Emily.

Talk to everyone later!!
Shannon

We also have main dining. Because of my school schedule and my husbands work schedule we usually eat dinner at 4 or 4:30 every night. There is no way I could get them to wait for the late dinner.
As I said in a previous post, my Brother and his family cancelled their cruise. He also had main dining so anyone waiting for main dining, that is one spot that just opened up.

We are out of town at my niece's baptism right now but we will be home for tonight.
Tonight is the night I get to log on. Even though there might not be anything left to book, I am still excited that I finally get to go past the warning that says you must till the 75 day mark. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Angie

Merrilyn - I just realized that you are moving your cruise - certainly from a $$$ point of view its a no brainer - I'm sorry I will miss getting to meet you and your family

Lisa

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm not going to be able to check in for awhile. Last night my grandfather passed away so we are headed back to Alabama tomorrow. We knew this was coming he has been very sick for a long time but still it is hard for my mom. I'm glad we got to see him last week and spend that time with him. Please remember to tell your family how much you love them because you never know.

For those waiting for 2010 cruise news I received an email saying that there would be an announcement monday at 12:30pm on the website followed by a live webcast at 12:45 pm. they are talking about upcoming itineraries and the new ships.

Take care everyone.

Lissa

Lissa, I'm so so sorry about your loss. Truer words have never been spoken. My husband's Grandmother had a stroke Thursday and is now in her final stages. It will be any day now. Our best to you and your family in your time of sorrow.

Lisa Marie
