magic your way premium versus base tickets

This will be our first trip to WDW. We are so excited! My husband is military and we can get a good deal on the "Stars and Stripes" tickets which include everything...waterparks, downtown diney... I am wondering if we should spend the extra money, about $300 extra for 2 adults, 1 child for 6 days or if we should just do the base tickets or the base tickets with the park hopper option? We will be there from March 3rd to March 10th. Any advice or just general info/tips about Disney would be greatly appreciated!

I had hopper passes the first time I went. The next time I didn't hoppers, I think there is enough to do at each park to keep you busy for the full day. If you get tired of the park you can leave and come back later in the day.
