Does anyone know what the general percent off packages are? I've been thinking room only but there are some perks with the package I can take advantage of. Does the discount come off the room portion or tickets too?

It depends on what promotion they're running at the time. It can be anywhere from 15-40% depending on if you have a PIN or if they're doing a general public offer. Right now I think I've seen like 25% values, 30% mods, and 35% of deluxe, but don't quote me on that. And the discount is on the room only, not on tickets or anything else.

Yes, it will take the % off of the room part of the package. The tickets, and dining plan if you have one, will be at full price.

I've only ever seen % off PINs for room only reservations.

The package discounts are usually not a % off, they're things like Free Dining, Kids Free, Buy4nights/Get3free, etc.

That's correct, but you can book a package and use the % off on the room charges of the package, or of course, just book a room.

They're marketed as "room only" to indicate that you get the discount on the room portion only, not on the tickets or dining plan. If they were marketed as a "package discount", people would expect the discount off tickets and dining plan as well (and the amount of the discount would vary depending on the number of people involved).

That's what I understood the OP to mean... that it would be 30% off either a room only reservation or off the total package price.

I was just trying to say that I have never seen an offer for a percentage off the price of a package. Yes, you can book with a room only discount and add tickets. My post was not very clear.
