With the DDP, when you eat at resturants like Ohana or the WCC is it considered a buffet resturant when you get the family style meal? The reason I ask is, I know that with a Buffet you only get "One full buffet and one single serving non-alcholic Beverage" Opposed to at a table sevvice resturant you also get an appetizer and Dessert. For example if I went to Ohana would my dessert be included and if I got the all you can eat skillet at WCC would an appetizer and dessert be included.
Also what does, "one single serving non-alcholic beverage" mean, is there no free refills?
Also, I've heard people have gotten other snacks then "allowed" with the plan, anyone taken advantage of this, if so what snacks? :mickeybar

I ate at WCC in 2003 on the silver plan, got the canyon skillet (best corn bread I've ever tasted) and we were also allowed to get an appetizer and dessert. I hope this has not changed, I will be back at the WL in December.

Thanks mcbj, does any one know about ohana? And what about the drinks?

The family style meal at O'Hana's includes its own dessert. We had delicious pineapple that we dipped into carmel sauce. Very yummy!

wish I knew the question to your O'Hana's, WCC questions, but I don
t....

Snacks...the official line is popcorn, ice cream, and bottled soadas or water or a small fountain soda. I have read of posters stating that they got churros and turkey legs counted as snack items....only hearsay however.

The official word on drinks is if you order tea, soda, coffee etc, that normally includes free refills then you may have as much as you like. However if you order a beverage that does not include free refills (like bottled water, juices, smoothies, etc then you get a "single serving"....which sounds fair....you can't order 6 smoothies and call it one beverage, however if you want 6 glasses of coke, go for it.

How about at CS places that you can by a souviner mug to keep w/ your drink, can you get one of those?

We were at WDW Mar 31- April 9 on the dining plan. We ate at both O'Hana's and Whispering Canyon (we had the skillet dinner). We were able to to also get desserts with the plan and not pay extra. At O'Hana's, for dessert, I had the bread pudding volcano thing, DH had coconut snowball, and DSs had the beach bomb. I don't remember what we had for dessert at Whispering Canyon, but I remember it was good!

As for souvenir mugs, we had dinner our last night at CRT. For dessert I had the Bibbidi Bobbidi Brew (vanilla and chocolate smoothie). It comes in a souvenir glass mug. I only had to pay extra for the mug (around $3). Well worth it. It was my favorite dessert and souvenir of the whole trip.

How can you eat a dessert after Ohana's or WCC? I'm too stuffed. Oy.

Why do you have to eat it? Bring it back to the room for a bedtime snack! YUM! :earboy2:

After such big meals, I wouldn't normally order dessert, but since it came with the dining plan, we always ordered it. Sometimes, we only took a few bites though.

A single service non-alcoholic beverage included refills (for sodas and ice tea) at all the sit down meals we ate at earlier this month.

At POR food court, we could have ordered fresh fruit, a cookie from the bakery, an ice cream treat, bottled lemonade, or bottled water using our snacks. I'm sure there were other choices, but that is what I remember.

Just back - dessert was pineapple & carmal and I agree with CarolAnnC - it was yummy - any of the other desserts are extra.

Were you on the dining plan? If so, did you have to pay extra for any dessert besides the pineapple and caramel? We were there about a week and half ago on the dining plan and we didn't have to pay extra for other desserts.
